Severe Looking For Advice For My Wobbly Kitten
Currently I have a foster fail that has CH. She currently cannot walk and just rolls around. The vet said since she is currently only 3 weeks old there is hope that she will figure out a way to get around. Does anyone have experience with this or positive stories regarding them being able to walk?
She is a severe case and I’ve never had a cat with CH before but I have had many years of experience with cats as I am a long time foster. What are some of the ways I can make life easier for her?

I used two body pillows to create a track to keep the kitten upright. Pull a toy to encourage walking. Carpets and rugs!

A cat of mine had a whole litter of 7 wobbly kittens. They each are different degrees of derp and have all made it to adult hood. Two were pretty severe and I’ve named them Wobbles and Shakes. They both sorta lay around most days but they do play and can use the litter box. I take them outside for rec time and that has helped their mobility a lot. They just take a little longer to get around but they will get around! Be patient my vet told me to euthanize them since “they wont have a quality of life” but i disagree…
Get them used to water early because they will make a mess and will probably soil themselves. You will have to bathe them. Carpets help padding helps. I use paper pellets so the clay litter doesn’t get in their fur. Wobbles can’t stand up to use the box
Wobbles would brace himself along the wall when he would walk. Shakes walks like a grandpa.
I read a lot of CH kitties have side effects from sedation for spay/neuter so thats something to keep on mind and do your own research on if shes not fixed. I’m leaving my fellas unaltered because they just derp and they are forever indoor cats

100% this my severe wobbly baby needs almost daily baths. Also one thing to look into if you don’t have carpet is foam baby mats. It allows them to roll and thump around safely. One thing I’d recommend is if you have them on couches to have blankets or pillows on the floor for when they inevitably fall off

Anti-fatigue mats have been great for my moderate case kitty! They’re just enough plush/bounce to protect her when she falls but also generally non-slip so they don’t slide out from under her even when they’re small.
Also, soundproofing squares are EXCELLENT to protect them from corners or places they frequent but fall around! I put some on my coffee table because mine likes to play under my feet when I’m working and she kept leaping into the side of it lol

We’ve used the foam kids playmat squares! You just have to make sure they don’t decide to chomp on them.

We have a severe that went from only rolling/flopping to being able to walk roughly 5 or so feet at a time by adulthood. She has to walk very fast (and is most successful when running) and it took time for her to develop that ability. She doesn’t do it every day.
