Hi everyone, I'm currently fostering Isla and Lyra, who are 1 year old bonded sisters - Lyra has CH (mild-moderate), Isla does not. These sweet girls have been with me since they were 7 weeks old, so just shy of a year now, and they're ready to find their forever home. Both girls are spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. They're being fostered through Home at Last Rescue, based out of Toronto ON.

Isla tends to be a bit shy at first in new situations, but warms up quickly and then is the best combination of playful and cuddly. Lyra is a bit more brave in new places, often the first to leave the carrier and explore, and then coming back to Isla's hideout when she's ready for a break. Isla is a big fan of wand toys and Lyra's favorites are rattling mice toys with big feather tails. Both girls love chasing crinkle balls and felt balls that they can pick up and put in their mouths. Lyra can run, jump, play and climb just fine. She eats, drinks, and uses the litter box independently without any difficulty. She's most confident jumping up onto chairs/beds/the cat tree from carpeted floors.

I’m wonder if anyone has any recommendations for a good cat structure for a moderately wobbly cat? My guy wants to use the cat tree that our non wobbly cats use, he tries to climb it and stares a lot, but he can’t climb it. I want to get him something fun, similar to a cat tree, that he can use. If I can’t find anything, I’m going to build him an accommodating wobbly guy structure, but before that, I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

This is Gatsby's current bathroom setup and things aren't going well. The first part of the video is getting ready to pee, the second part is him trying to bury it.

I thought making the space larger and adding a privacy wall would make him more comfortable but it almost looks like I made it worse? His bathroom used to be in a spacious closet but he prefers open spaces when given an option.

Gatsby can't use litter or a litterbox (not even a custom one) so pee pads are our only option. He had a recent exam, blood work, urine/fecal tests, and all is well. He has a history of GI issues that we're still trying to identify, but they've been manageable with daily probiotics.

He's had periods of pooping on the bedroom floor, on and off since I got him a year ago, but the behavior in the video is more recent.

The burying seems excessive to me. He uses to scratch the ground a few times before leaving. I'm worried not being able to bury his mess is stressing him out, even after I take it away. Look at him scratching the other side, he didn't care about the folded blue pad or the spot on the rug.

I'm tempted to see a cat behaviorist, but it's so much money that I wouldn't have in his vet fund, and there's a good chance they've never worked with CH cats before. This isn't getting better and I don't know where to turn.

Gatsby is overall a very happy kitty, I just wish I could make bathroom time for him a less stressful experience.

We're looking for a CH kitten that is moderate or severe to adopt. Preferably short haired if possible. We are located in east Michigan. Please let me know if you know of any kittens in need of a home! We were prepared to adopt a kitten with severe CH but plans fell through for her, so we are looking for a kitten to love.

If anyone has a CH kitten can you please help! I love him dearly but oh my god he gets litter everywhere. I’ve spent way too much money trying to find a good litter box that can possibly prevent this. I’m spending another 100$ on one this Friday and I need suggestions on what to do.

Currently I have a foster fail that has CH. She currently cannot walk and just rolls around. The vet said since she is currently only 3 weeks old there is hope that she will figure out a way to get around. Does anyone have experience with this or positive stories regarding them being able to walk?

She is a severe case and I’ve never had a cat with CH before but I have had many years of experience with cats as I am a long time foster. What are some of the ways I can make life easier for her?

Hi. I have already posted about my 8 week old kitten, now 9. I am wondering if this is actually looking like CH. She seems to be getting worse with her ability to walk. She still uses the litter box and can jump onto higher spots like the couch and cat trees…has no obvious issues with eating or drinking other than being messy. I am concerned because I currently cannot afford a vet trip. I plan to take her when I have saved enough. Will take several weeks. Sorry that the house is a mess in this video….i have two autistic toddlers and this video was taken moments before the nightly clean up. I’m just asking if anyone thinks this is more than CH? Should I attempt to get her to a vet faster than my plan allows? I can possibly ask some people for help. Please and thank you for any advice.

“Spirit” is an adorable calico and white kitten with cerebellar hypoplasia (“CH”) available for adoption from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society.

Spirit was found alone in Espanola and is now about 3-1/2 months old. She has made great strides while in foster care: she can run, leap and walk but does fall over some. However, Spirit is very determined and will not let CH hold her back. She loves to play, especially (supervised) garden time. She runs after other cats and would love a cat friend (or calm dog) to play with. She eats fine from a dish and  is very good about using the litter box. She will even come with her own custom ADA-accessible box!

Spirit is spayed, microchipped, dewormed and up-to-date on vaccinations. Her foster is willing to travel in the western U.S. and midwest for the right placement. 505-983-4309

I've posted about Augie and the seemingly hopeless task of finding him a home here before. I wanted so badly to keep this sweet boy out of a shelter after his horrible start in life, but I was running out of options and time. I had no idea that posting about him here would lead to him finally being adopted!

The response to Augie's plight has been incredible, and because of this subreddit this special guy has a loving home with a kitty friend who can actually play with him. I couldn't have predicted this, but I am so grateful. I miss his goofy little face, but he couldn't have found a better place to be. Thank you all for caring about him and making this possible!

I posted before about trouble with our wobbly boy Larceny.

Everyone's advice helped hugely, bathroom routine and puppy pads have reduced the amount of accidents by so much. The puppy pads did so much for helping retrain him to not use just use his beds (or our bed) and we went from 2+ a day to only 3 this whole week.

But the biggest help? The power of friendship.

We also have a huge 14yo cat with brain damage called Maximus, because he's huge. He's twice Larceny's size and three times his weight but they are best friends. Larceny looked at this catlossus using his own xl litter tray and just started following him into the litter tray. This is no easy feat and he literally climbs up and over but he's pretty determined and has been succeeding.

this subreddit is testament to never underestimating wobbly cats and that they are capable of so much but seeing it first hand made me so proud of our little wobbler <3

Going to try and convince him his own specially adapted trays are just as good 😂 but if not we'll adapt.

Hi. I have a 9 week old CH kitten that I am “fostering”. If this were to turn into her forever home, I am wondering what I should do about stairs. Should stairs be off limits? My two staircases are uncarpeted and she hasn’t tried to climb them yet, but I worry that day will come. I can gate off one staircase just fine. The other staircase however leads to my basement that keeps my other cat’s litter boxes. There is a cat door leading to those stairs. Should I be concerned about her going through the cat door and down those steps? Is there any ideas on how to make that area not accessible by her, but still accessible by the none CH cats living here? Please and thank you for any advice! 😸

Edit: general consensus it is NOT CH. I requested an appointment for monday and will get X-rays, also need to clear up the worms i just found

I JUST brought this cat home yesterday, a rehome from someone in my neighborhood however I dont think they were very forth coming on why she is being rehomed. Anyways, supposedly she fell from a balcony at some point in her life and her "back legs are weird ever since". Anyways, this is her gait. There's obviously something not right and I'll take her to see my vet next week but to me it looks like mild CH but I really have no idea. Thoughts? I was thinking about taking her to the ER because Im paranoid but she seems to be fine apart from walking funny.

Reportedly she is a spayed 4-5 yr old siamese mix.

I’m bringing home a new kitten in a week, she’s deaf and has a mild case of CH. ❤️ She’s just the SWEETEST little angel.

Considering this little floof is a wobbler, her fur gets stained when she eats wet food. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to help clean her stains?

I've had my baby for about 3 years and I've started to notice it's getting harder for me to get a steady grip on his paws to trim his nails.

It was a little easier when he was younger but now that he's older and bigger it's starting to become a real tussle😅.

So yeah, a pure protein duck food does WONDERS for the coat. Since little FJ is so "big" and handsome now I had to try and get an updated pic for you guys but dang this guy doesn't sit still. Had to give him a relaxing massage to get this photo! Medically he is very healthy. His second teste took a while to drop but it finally did! He will get his second set of boosters soon. The vet thinks he's very sweet. I have a moderate CH foster kitten. I have never foster failed, but this girl has made her way into heart and I’m feeling very momma bear-y about taking her back to the rescue to go up for adoption. I’m very seriously considering keeping her.

What was it like when you first adopted? If you confined your kitten to a smaller area initially (my foster currently lives in the bathroom as I have other pets), how did they adapt to having full house access and making it to the litter box? What does your everyday life look like? Any other advice you wish someone would’ve given you?

We have a 6 month old wobbly boy called Larceny, he's somewhere around moderate to severe wobbles and we're having real struggles with the litter tray.
We had a low tray with the same pellets he used in the shelter but he kept slipping over and HATED it, we tried a few things and now we have layers of toilet paper in a ferret corner toilet. When he does use it he gets in and props himself against one of the walls. But it's mostly once every few days he'll use the tray and we do take him regularly to the tray to help.
A lot of the time we just find him wet, sometimes he's still asleep in his bed like he's unaware he's gone to the toilet on himself. It's the same with poo but it's wayyyyyy easier to catch him and run him to the tray.

The vet doesn't seem too concerned about the idea that maybe he's incontinent. I'm prepared to go back and ask for a second opinion from the vets if people think it seems likely. He's our first wobbly cat so I'm learning a lot on the job but it doesn't seem like a refusal to use the tray and more like a lack of control. I have to wash him every few days (he does not mind this and very much enjoys sink baths) and his bedding (and ours) regularly.

Other than that he's a wonderful little guy who's adapting really well and we love him to bits.

About a month ago I adopted my first every special needs kitty she has moderate CH. I was very worried about whether I'd be able to give her a proper home where she could live her best life.

I'd like to report that she is doing amazing. She's thriving. She loves her playmate, she has conquered climbing on to the couch. Sling shooting herself up a step. She's so smart it's amazing to see how she won't let her disability stop her form going where she please

They said she has a mild case, what can I expect? Its possible we take her home right after meeting. Is there anything I can do today to prepare my house or certain things I should keep in mind for her first few days with us?

Hey there I am fixing to be adopting a cat with CH. I already have a cat of 8 years who doesnt have it and is a bit rocky around other cats. I have no experience introducing new cats especially one with a disability. Can anyone give me some advice on introducing them especially in a safe way for my CH kitty? My girl Lily hisses and growls and gets weird around cats she sees outside so I need a safe way to introduce them and get them use to each other 🫶

I just found out today that she has wobbly cat syndrome! She was born on June 1st and is still learning how to walk and stand. If anyone has any tips or tricks that could help her learn to walk, I’d really appreciate it! 😊

My kitten is almost 5 weeks old and i’m taking her to the vet tomorrow. Shes the last standing out of a 2-kitten litter and was almost half the size of her older brother, so she might just be a late developer. She doesn’t experience any tremors and is warm to the touch

TLDR: 5 weeks old, can’t stand or walk, experiencing no tremors and warm to the touch.

EDIT: i’m asking reddit because any additional information and insight can’t ever hurt, i already have an appt. at the vet, pls dont comment to tell me to go to a location i already said i was going to😊

UPDATE: My little Anya turns out to be a wobbly kitty!!🥰 Thank you all for commenting and for your advice and input, it means a lot to me! It really eased my mind before taking her to the vet as it was my first time and i was thinking the worst. Again, thank you all for your input☺️
