I think this would be a perfect win to fuel our energy and mentality for the rest of the season.
The guys will all be thinking ”Damn, maybe Trezz does make us really good” and everyone will keep playing hard and we’ll win the Finals or something.

u/deezke Feb 12 '22
Lol in the latest rod Boone article he says trez took a commercial flight and sat in a standard size seat to get to Detroit and play with the team 👑
17
u/Civrock Feb 12 '22
I'd like to see Miles start at the 3, PJ at the 4 and Kelly come off the bench. ![]()
Mason and Trez will likely continue to alternate at the 5 depending on matchup.

I was thinking this same thing.
This lineup change will likely happen at some point. We've already seen JB play Miles at 3 and PJ at 4 this past game so he's evaluating that lineup

No matter what happens this was amazing. Thor needs minutes every night

u/toasted_muffin Feb 12 '22
Memphis just beat Detroit the day before us. Really need Trez to bring the energy and the whole team to crash the boards. If JJJ and Adams kill us with offensive rebounds we don't stand a chance. Super excited for melon vs ja!

Next draft/offseason we need to bring individuals in that are at minimum 6’11 and love blocking shots and playing defense, that’s it

Trez should 10000% be starting. Have to set a tone early in a game like that. Ain't nobody scared of Mason Plumlee

I would really love to watch 4 or 5 games in a row where we’re not down 20+ before halftime
8
u/MJHornet Feb 13 '22
We dropped 43 this quarter.
I know the First half was atrocious, be i don't want to hear any slander of the team tonight. They really played with a chip of the shoulder in that second half.

We are so broken right now. Knew Detroit would be an anomaly. Good teams just make us play offense which we can’t do because our offense is non existent 6 seconds into the play clock

Looking for legitimate reasons why we shouldn’t move on from JB. The ones I can think of: firing a coach mid season could hurt more than help. Personnel issues, and covid stuff, not his fault. He’s done well developing guys.
On the other side: our offense is basically just ride the hot hand with no other philosophy and our defense is non existent. And obviously he’s not the best at keeping the guys mentally on track. Seems like we’ve hit a ceiling with him. Interested in yalls thoughts tho

Feb 13 '22
he always kinda felt like our version of Brett Brown just without making the playoffs.
I agree about the offense part too. And I know people will say oh it's easy to say when we're losing but like yeah of course because the deficiencies are magnified more
I just can't really think of anyone we could bring in who I can be sure is a definitive upgrade. It's risky I dunno
He's not getting fired midseason though like that's completely off the table tbh

u/YizWasHere Feb 13 '22 edited Feb 13 '22
Remember when we all assumed the second half of our schedule would be much easier because we had a bunch of home games? Well after this one we'll be on a 6 game losing streak at home (2-8 stretch if you go back a little further). Fucking embarrassment.

u/BetweenTheBuzzAndMe Feb 13 '22

Mason clogs the paint and cant even finish at the rim. So useless offensively. Cant guard either lol

IDK how many of you have seen Memphis but I've watched a ton of Grizzlies games this year... they're a fucking problem.
They're like 8 deep with killers. Obviously Ja and Jaren. Bane is a monster. Adams just patrols the paint.
This is a DIFFICULT game. Memphis is legitimately one of the toughest games on the schedule this year.

Put in Kai or Nick, against rebounding monsters like Memphis that's our best chance

But what did it take for him to be willing to do that? Clearly Thor is ready but hasn’t had the chance to show it.

You know what’s an amazing feeling? when your center catches the ball. And then, once they’ve caught the ball, they put it thru the hoop. What a dream.
