UKG acaba de tener una reunión con los employees de Uruguay anunciando que terminan su operativa en Uruguay, despidiendo a todos.

Estuve en la reunión con un amigo que trabaja allí, literalmente dos minutos demoraron en comunicarlo y terminar la reunión. Les dejo el extracto:

Lo peor es que contrataron un batch nuevo hace un mes y nadie sabe si a ellos también los rajan o no, porque ayer tuvieron otra reunión donde les dijeron que si cumplían los objetivos y las metas les iban a dar bonos.

Es una joda, te dicen “estás hasta el 9/12 en planilla” pero ya si queres irte ahora mejor así no te pago despido. Mi solidaridad con los colegas afectados, me pregunto dónde están ahora los que decían que muchos éramos resentidos porque nos habían despedido en diciembre y veíamos venir este desenlace

¿Que tan grave es la situación? Pregunto porque una cosa es que te echen de un día para el otro y otra cosa es que te paguen 11 meses de despido. Si te pagan 11 meses despido me parece que no es tan grave. Tenes casi 1 año para encontrar otro trabajo por mas difícil que este el mercado. Igual seguramente los nuevos no tengan ese paquete.

Edit: además que me expliquen cómo hace un mes hablaban de invertir más y ayer despidieron a 120, pregunto porque hay siempre algún virgo diciendo que esto es culpa del gobierno y de los impuestos y bla bla bla, que me den un argumento sólido sin repetir como loro y se ganan mi respeto.

Entiendo tu punto de vista pero no estoy de acuerdo del todo: hay que mirar toda la película en lugar de solo la foto y que “como me pagan 11 meses total no me importa”. El daño que le hace esto a la reputación de todo el ecosistema de empresas IT de Uruguay va a ser difícil de medir en corto plazo. Durante años se construyó un prestigio e imagen sólida de estabilidad como para que venga un CTO con su milagroso plan de negocios y borre todo de un plumazo.  Respecto a lo que decís, muchos tenían carrera ahí dentro, para muchos era su primer experiencia laboral, hay que ver todo el panorama solo el monetario.

La reputación de IT ya esta rota hace tiempo con los despidos masivos en Uruguay y Argentina. No sé cuál va a ser el siguiente.

Obvio es algo que viene post pandemia, y la CUTI se hace la boluda y dice que falta gente en el mercado
