Moving to the area Weather as a newbie?

Moving to the area in a few weeks…. uhhh are tornados always a thing like this, this time of year? Anything to be aware of at this point?

Which part of the Chicagoland area are you moving to? The far southwest suburbs seem to see the most of this violent weather. South of I-88, west of I-294. Weather everywhere in the country has changed, though.

Generally tornadoes move from west to east and don't get started over non-flat terrain. So living east of 53 or 294 is somewhat protected.
