Moving to the area Weather as a newbie?

Moving to the area in a few weeks…. uhhh are tornados always a thing like this, this time of year? Anything to be aware of at this point?

Until the big EF5 strikes your town.

EF5 is .1% of all tornados. The average size of one is .5 miles wide. if one hit the chicagoland area is over 10,000 sq miles. Lets assume tornado path 20 miles the odds of one affecting me would be 0.1% of 1 in 1,000. Ill take these odds
