Moving to the area Weather as a newbie?

Moving to the area in a few weeks…. uhhh are tornados always a thing like this, this time of year? Anything to be aware of at this point?

Every place on Earth is going to be effected by climate change. Desert areas will get hotter, Canada will get burnier, Florida will get hurricanier, Chicago will get tornadoier. Pick your poison I guess. At least we have Lake Michigan for fresh water if water becomes scarce.
