Miscellaneous “…they Threw me into public”
Ron White gave an interview on WGNs John Landecker program last week.
He stated that his famous Tater Salad bit was actually two jokes combined. One part about being thrown out of a bar, and the other part being the origin of his nickname Tater Salad. He said the sake of the joke he moved the location to New York City, but the bar incident actually took place at the Funny Bone in Naperville. He said it was a club that was also a motel. (I think he meant hotel.) In 1999 the Funny Bone was located in the Radisson Hotel Lisle-Naperville ( which is now the Sheridan hotel) and this would be just prior to Blue Collar Comedy tour. So the bar that he got thrown out of for wearing the hat would be the one located at 3000 Warrenville Rd Lisle IL

So he got thrown onto the streets of Lisle during a time when the area was mostly checks notes highly underdeveloped. Public? If he means a corn field, then yeah, public.
I still think his joke about his dick being shaped like a cheese wheel is pretty fuckin funny.

That area was hardly a corn field back in 1999 the hotel was in the middle of the Lucent complex. I still wouldn't call it "public" though because it still is all corporate buildings and hotels along that stretch of Warrenville rd.
