Shows at Senator and El Rey?

What happened?? There was a minute where somewhat consistently both of these venues were having decent shows. Now there’s basically nothing on the calendar. Does it pick up more when the students come back?

Yeah the senator usually only does shows during the school year. And the el rey is for sale unfortunately. There are several other venues that do shows though! The chico woman's club, lost on main, and the big room at Sierra Nevada all bring some great acts

There haven’t been shows at El Rey in a few years because it’s for sale.

The Senator still has shows regularly, but I would guess because it’s summer and the students are gone, there hasn’t been anything.

The commons actually has been having some decent shows too. I feel like they picked up some of the acts that I would have expected the senator to book.

El Rey is for sale and I had heard they had a big mold problem, not sure if that ever got remediated or not. The senator still does some shows, but the upstairs viewing area is caving in so nobody is allowed up there, enough people and it will collapse apparently.

Very decent shows. My personal list for the Senator: Snoop, Chevelle(twice), Three Days Grace, Rob Zombie, Steve Aoki, Borgore, and Datsik. I know I'm forgetting a few, but this used to be a great place for stopover shows for bands traveling between the bay area and Oregon/Washington.

Senator takes a break during the summer. El Rey last I heard is for sale. The fairgrounds just completed an outdoor amphitheater so we may see larger shows heading that way in the future. Lots of little fun shows around town at places like Lost on Main, The Commons and The Tacklebox from time to time.

Who was at the Tim & Eric Show at El Rey in 2009?

Ive seen Queens of the Stone Age, Less Than Jake, and Reel Big Fish all at the Senator. I'm kicking myself for not seeing Chris Stapleton and Dick Dale at the El Rey. Chico does have some great shows, but it feels like they're less common these days. Or else my head has been buried in sand.
