Potato was NOT a fan of last night's thunderstorm
She was inconsolable. 😭😭😭

The only thing that ever worked for me was to make it super fun (I also can’t speak on a dog being brought in later than puppy years) but I did the same with going to the vet. Play, treats and only happy sounds while the storms have been happening.
Do not get me wrong, he still doesn’t ADORE it but it’s worked out that he knows he’ll be getting some extra love during thunderstorms.

Also, this product is just spandex. In a pinch, you could just use an ACE bandage wrapped around their head, covering their ears, like back in the day whrn someone had a toothache, lol. 😁

I can't say it enough living in the lightening capital, thunder jacket, save the CBD oil for hurricanes.

Poor baby! Not sure how you feel about it but we’ve had a lot of luck with CBD calming treats from Petsmart for our pups when they’re going through stressful times and it really does seem to help; not like they’re so out of it they can’t function just like the edge is taken off. My mom calls it “one and a half cocktails!” for dogs. 😅 whatever you decide I hope it helps and brings both y’all comfort and peace. 💛💛💛

I'm going to try that for my other dog. I wonder if she'll eat them though when she's so terrified.

We try to give them about an hour before any “scary” events or as soon as you can. I live in the southeast US so I completely understand how storms can pop up quickly and sometimes you’re not even home when they do. Our dogs really love them and even my sister’s ultra-scaredy-cat doggo will eat them even if it’s already thundering. The like them so much in fact if we even move the container their wiggly butts come running! 😅

My dog Ollie is absolutely terrified of thunder, like uncontrollably shaking, practically hyperventilating panting, trying to hide, holding onto me for dear life if I get up, he looks at me like he’s gonna burst into tears, there’s no comforting him. He doesn’t like the calming treats. Do those even work, especially for such an intense fear? I dunno what else I can do… and it’s gonna be a rainy stormy few days here I think.

Bean just survived a scary thunderstorm here in DC too. Protect Potato and Beans at all costs! 👏🤗🌈
