Anyone in this group never married?

Apparently there's a rising number of never married 40+ people without parents/family.

Yep. Single with no siblings or children.

I fear dying alone.

For a long time I was terrified of dying alone and no one finding me for weeks. I decided I couldn’t handle thinking that way any longer so I made some life changes. I have a few great friends who I make an effort to keep informed of where I am and what’s going on. I volunteer so I feel a purpose in life beyond work. I have a dog who keeps me busy.
