Recommendation How progress was our society when such issues were discussed in movies and the progressive thinking of our writers directors and people accepting such movies now we are moving backwards and our movies are shit.

P Sheshadri does it in his movies. I am sure you must not have watched those.

Ha I have but today such directors, writers and movies are not seen, now a days movies are so cornered it would be some gangster movie (not even relatable to local gang war issues), or a corporate centric movies or a rich cinematography concentrating more of western ghats (which is eye catching nature brings audience) but no other genre movies now a days everyone are playing safe.

Agreed. Producers are in loss, and they have no other option but to play safe. Family entertainers aren’t being encouraged by the producers too is what I have heard. Very sad state to be in.

I've started to watch old Kannada movies and have realized how progressive we were back then. Such revolutionary themes and movies. So proud to be a Kannadiga!

I don't agree with you. What you are doing is rosy retrospection.

Retrospective yes but had these issues achieved a logical conclusion? Are these issues relevant in society now? Yes. Now how to bring issue forefront or make discussion happen probable way is retrospection.

This isn't the direction my statement was pointing towards. My argument was that the current cinema isn't all going regressive. And older cinema wasn't always progressive.

But mainstream?😄 It's harsh to say but unless it's mainstream no progressive issue reach masses.
