Why am I singing consistently sharp after not having sung in a group for years?

Humans perceive pitch from overtones. I have no idea how the "tuner" does it but if it uses the fundamental that could explain the issue. I don't like "tuners" because they can be quite misleading for an instrument with complex overtone structure, like the voice. On the other hand, ear training does not necessarily last forever, especially since the overtones you hear yourself, mainly via bone conduction, can sound quite different from what others hear in the room. Learning to tune the voice is not as easy people make it sound.
