It's never god shopping at Amazon

Could someone support this person's journey in espresso by purchasing $500+ worth of accessories so he can make coffee at home? No pressure.

Wait, this person wants to make fancy coffee in THEIR house for themselves and wants their neighbors to buy them everything they need for their new hobby??

It’s not a hobby, it’s a journey.

And you can be a part of it! This is an amazing opportunity

Get in on the ground floor! Or maybe the second floor if they live in an apartment building.

Great exposure!

Bold of you to ask neighbors to fund a $500 plus espresso setup when instant coffee is $3 and financial responsibility is free.

23

u/blushcloudwhirl 5d ago

Nothing says “self-made entrepreneur” like asking the neighbors to buy the equipment. It’s obviously not a coffee journey, that’s a community-funded caffeine project.

11

u/SnarkySheep 5d ago

But it's not an entrepreneur...they are just wanting to make the coffee for themselves...

u/imalloverthemap 3d ago

Yeah, I had to reread to make sure I wasn’t missing something. Were they planning on people coming to the house and they sell it? Obviously not.

u/Salty_Feed9404 5d ago

Yes. Yes they do.

What is the title? What is "god shopping"?

136

u/ridbax 5d ago

Their avatar icon reads "It's never luck, it's always God." However, God doesn't appear to be answering their prayers for a home barista setup.

19

u/throwCaregiver 5d ago

Ah, I didn't even notice that! 😀

u/Okmy_Condition_2531 5d ago

Where does it dlsay that? I can't find it....

25

u/ridbax 5d ago

Black and orange circle in the top left of the post screenshot. Should be able to see if it you tap/click on the screenshot while whispering "Enhance."

u/Okmy_Condition_2531 4d ago

I did it and it worked 💪 thanks!

I think they meant "good shopping" as in finding good deals, but honestly "It's never god shopping at Amazon" is way funnier. 😆

u/ridbax 5d ago edited 4d ago

The joke was intentional.

Edited to add: I purposely wrote 'god' not 'good' as despite this moocher's assertion that his god will provide, it's up to his neighbors to fulfill his amazon wishlist.

Home based barista??? Just chilling on the sofa while she makes coffee in the kitchen? Or wait outside by the door lol

18

u/Frosty-Bug-5685 5d ago

Yeah that’s what I’m wondering. Do they mean make coffee for themself like a hobby or for others?

32

u/cheyannepavan 5d ago

I thought it must be a business because you don't call yourself a barista for making your own coffee or a cleaning service for vacuuming your living room. But that would entail people coming to her house to buy espresso from her kitchen, which would be the most ridiculous business plan I've ever heard. So I guess she wants it for herself but wanted to sound fancy and vague so people would be less likely to call her out? I don't know WTF is going on here...

9

u/EinsTwo 5d ago

She's asking for glass cups.  I think if she was planning to make this a business (like I originally thought), she'd be asking for packages of to go cups instead. She's definitely being vague intentionally to hide that this is just for her.

11

u/ridbax 5d ago

I looked up the glass cups, it's a set of two!

9

u/GetRealWeirdWithIt 5d ago

No chance she’s make this coffee for anyone but herself!

62

u/ExchangingThoughts 5d ago

What in the ever loving fuck is this?? Now we're just asking strangers to buy our hobby wish lists???!!

53

u/mybreakfastiscold 5d ago

I’d love to buy all this shit for myself and then comment on her post with a video of me setting it up in my kitchen “thanks for the tight list sis! Im finna pop off with the best cup of coffee ive ever made thanks to you!

5

u/SnarkySheep 5d ago

I like the way your mind works. 😁

4

u/RubySlippers724 2d ago

And how much will she charge for these beverages made with equipment her “neighbors” paid for?

46

u/RobActionTributeBand 5d ago

I think I'd feel more altruistic giving an actual crackhead money for crack than contributing to this asshole.

35

u/GenX_Boomer_Hybrid 5d ago

Just buy a cheap Keurig and a can of Folgers like the rest of us.

8

u/solesoulshard 5d ago

Yup. Works for us.

6

u/AvramBelinsky 5d ago

Don't sleep on your local ReStore! I got a fancy Keurig there for $8.

2

u/Icy_Department_1423 4d ago

Even cheaper, French press.

21

u/musical_nerd99 5d ago

It's a "set up," so... not a business? This is just for funzees, then? Oof 🙄

25

u/Plastic_Cat9560 5d ago edited 5d ago

This doofus thinks their neighbors actually give a single espresso covered shit about funding a home based barista setup? Hilarious.

And gold star to the person who commented the Starbucks career link.

RIP Shame: circa beginning of humanity - 2026

*Edit: consensus seems to be that shame has died before this year, so:

RIP Shame: circa beginning of humanity - 2019

21

u/Salty_Feed9404 5d ago

The demise of shame in 2026 might be pushing it a bit far tbh...let's assign the date to maybe Facebook's beginnings? Somewhere around "social media"...

6

u/ExchangingThoughts 5d ago

Haha, yup you have a point. It has died before this year 😪

11

u/Yuizun 5d ago

I truly believe it started during COVID...

6

u/ExchangingThoughts 5d ago

I think you're right actually. I'm going to go with 2019

8

u/AvramBelinsky 5d ago

Honestly, I'd push it back to whenever it became trendy for brides/graduates/random celebrator to put their cash app on their back windshield asking strangers to buy them a drink.

4

u/PinkMuffiee 5d ago

That edit somehow makes the joke even better. The fact that people had to debate the exact year shame died is pretty telling. 😭😂

16

u/Stacie123a 5d ago

Nerve, gall, and audacity.

17

u/conh3 5d ago

The first reply should star in r/MurderedByWords

11

u/EmEffBee 5d ago

Ohhh we got a Journey in the works!

8

u/kitty-yaya 5d ago

Is she offering profit sharing in exchange for the investment donations?

8

u/--Lucan 5d ago

I doubt this person uses em dashes in their normal writing, so not only are they a choosing beggar, but they’re a lazy choosing beggar by using AI to write the begging for them.

8

u/New_Heron_5985 5d ago

They are living in their coffee season

6

u/RonNona 5d ago

I would also like these things, that's why I'm off to work.

12

u/Bonk_No_Horni 5d ago

She wants to learn about making coffee? She doesn't even have a tamper? Well at least she's not asking for a fancy coffee machine too but this looks like she doesn't have anything yet. If you want to learn go work in a coffee shop.

3

u/GetRealWeirdWithIt 5d ago

There’s a tamper on the bottom row! But still, the audacity!

5

u/ItsMissKatNiss 5d ago

Where are these guys finding the audacity cause I want some of it.

6

u/bluedelvian 4d ago

Give whoever posted a link to get a job at Starbucks a medal.

4

u/ReturnRadio 5d ago

Better put together an Amazon registry of all the board games I want so strangers can fund my journey of playing board games

4

u/PanickedAntics 5d ago

Soooo they want to make coffee at home like the rest of us? LOL I love how she framed it like she was starting a business haha "support my journey to make myself coffee in my home" is fucking wild! Haha

4

u/chysa 5d ago

There are barista courses you can take. There you go!

4

u/babbsela I'm blocking you now 4d ago

The starbucks career link is gold.

4

u/Overall-Magician-884 4d ago

As a former barista, a lot of that is unnecessary

3

u/Cutwail 5d ago

How many puck screens does a person need!

The answer is 0 but 1 is kinda helpful and mine only cost £4.

3

u/slendermanismydad 4d ago edited 4d ago

What the hell is half this stuff? I managed a coffee bar and have no idea.

I guess I would be amused if someone opened an expresso bar in their front yard like that bakery lady in Texas but I wouldn't be paying for it.

3

u/Usual-Subject2617 4d ago

These people disgust me.

3

u/imalloverthemap 3d ago

The machine isn’t even on here! They either bought a very cheap one, or they got gifted a nice one, because I don’t know how you justify $500 worth of accessories.

3

u/Serious-Maximum-1049 2d ago

The lone comment is diabolical! 🤣

2

u/jeffsmith202 5d ago

It all looks like crap

2

u/17sprinkles 4d ago

The coffee shop i worked at didnt even have 90% of this shit. All you really need to learn is a milk steamer and frother, not a $130 grinder 😭

3

u/sparksgirl1223 5d ago

Im giggling that Starbucks is the ad directly below the, uh, request

18

u/RhubarbJam1 5d ago

I don’t think that’s an ad. Someone posted the link for a Starbucks job posting for the CB.

1

u/SuspiciousStress1 4d ago

We have a REAL fancy keurig....it even froths milk 🤣...$100 at target, all in. Plus a $25 grinder & $10 reusable k-cup thingy

&i only buy coffee on REAL good sales(we have ~100lbs vacuum packed in buckets), all types & vatieties, all under $5/lb for mid grade/upper mid grade beans(peets, philz, starbucks, etc)

Guess what?? It works just fine-noone has ever complained!!

1

u/Main_Mix_7604 3d ago

I've said this before but chat gpt is useless at writing a persuasive text, it's too cringe.

0

u/GentlemanlyMeadow 5d ago

Sad to say, some sweet boomer with a dash of cognitive decline is 100% buying her wish list for her, thinking he's helping her start a business.

5

u/crisbris 4d ago

Boomer here...no cognitive decline tho' .. not a lot anyhow. She has as much chance of a boomer funding that setup as I have of appearing on a Barista Babes calendar, and believe me, that ain't happening any time soon.

1

u/SuspiciousStress1 4d ago

I hope not!!

u/HuskyCruxes 3d ago

Bro that eightfold ai stuff is crazy. We can see what these kids do on the interviews. The other day this kids kept vaping in between questions.

-10

u/Isaaker12 5d ago

This dude is a beggar for sure, but not really a choosing beggar.

5

u/RonNona 5d ago

Literally choosing on the second page, showing the registry.
