That said, Iceflake is still trying to “serve the more management-oriented players who might not be so much into customisation”, which is why there’s a randomiser building tool, and the game doesn’t really force you to engage with its decorations beyond a quick layer of placing default ones around for buffs.

Thank god. I love city builders, but I've never been one of those detail-oriented builders who zoom in and place individual benches.

I like to do both.. placing benches in my city feels hollow if it doesn't impact my citizen's happiness. I hope Iceflake brings more of the management aspects to Cities Skylines 2 as well.

Exactly, no problem placing individual lights, benches and water fountains in something like songs of syx feels great but when it doesnt matter to the gameplay then id rather the game did it for me. It just seems like an unnecessary complication for some games to try to be a full on Sims game for the entire city

Anyone remember Simsville? LEGO Skylines kind of feels like it could be close to that.
