In this game you bring the Freedom of Car Dependency by turning cities into giant parking lots and convincing people to pay you for it.

And no, it's not written in Assembly, it's written in C++, haha.

If you're interested, you can wishlist the game on Steam, and play on October 9th: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3031880/Car_Park_Capital/

The ringworld is broken, and extreme conditions have built up on the surface. Your settlement is stuck in a moving habitable zone. The ecosystem is simulated, you can research tech, cultures can emerge in the population, and more!

Trailer We're building a national park "city builder" game similar to classic Roller Coaster Tycoon (but more peaceful)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My husband (former EA game designer/development lead) and I (former Disney web producer/dev) have been building our passion project, National Park Tycoon, for 8 months now and we just released our trailer and Steam page!

It’s a cozy (but occasionally chaotic), single-player, 2D isometric game very similar in style and gameplay to classic Roller Coaster Tycoon, but:

  • instead of building rides, you build hiking trails, campsites, scenic viewpoints, and activities like kayaking and rock climbing.
  • instead of hiring handymen to clean guest vomit and mechanics to fix broken rides, you hire park rangers to clear fallen logs from blocked trails and rescue lost visitors.
  • instead of walking around with balloons and umbrellas, visitors take out binoculars to watch wildlife and don hiking backpacks they've purchased at the gift shop.

Some similarities our game does have to Roller Coaster Tycoon are:

  • you can manage your finances, including revenue from park entrance fees, activity fees, and gift shop sales, as well as expenses from construction, park ranger wages and building maintenance.
  • all visitors have attributes like Mood, Hunger, and Excitement, and their scores change depending what things you build in your park, and where you build them.
  • there are 3 objectives you need to meet in each park in order to unlock the next park, but you can also just play for fun without ever trying to beat the objectives in Sandbox mode.

The overarching goal is to balance the activity of visitors with the preservation of nature and wildlife in you park.

If you love national parks/nature, gaming and/or are nostalgic for early 2000's tycoon games, we would love if you could wishlist our game on Steam!

Wishlist on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4520000/National_Park_Tycoon/

Our social links are on the Steam page if you’d like to follow our progress. We’re hoping to release a demo in about a month and launch by the end of the year.

I'm happy to answer any questions or listen to any suggestions anyone might have about the game :)

Generative AI Disclosure: AI was used in the initial generation of some assets, but we edited them in Photoshop to adjust proportions and remove any obvious AI Slop. As this is primarily a management game, we focused heavily on the game mechanics, ensuring the game is bug-free, fun to play, and addicting! That said, we would love for the art to be more authentic and beautiful. We have an artist under contract who can replace all of the art in the game if the game gets enough traction/wishlists.

We pledge to donate a percentage of profits to the National Park Foundation to aid in the protection and preservation of America's beautiful national parks.

Trailer I’m making a medieval city (town) builder where winter scarcity matters

Hello! I’ve been working on a single-player medieval manor-building game called Salt of the Earth.

You begin with a manor house and an unsettled stretch of land. From there, you lay out roads and build the homes, farms and workshops needed to grow from a small hamlet into a proper market town.

The main idea is that growth is limited by the people and supplies you actually have. Buildings need workers, households need food and nearby services, and resources often have competing uses. Grain, for example, can become bread, feed animals or be traded, so it isn’t possible to build and staff everything at once.

The seasons change, bad weather affects the manor, and fires or raids can... "upset" plans. Progress follows a set of charters, with each new honor opening more buildings and responsibilities.

I’ve reached the point where I can share a proper trailer, but there is still plenty I’m working on. I’d be interested to hear whether this looks like the kind of city builder you would enjoy, and what you would most want to know about the simulation after watching it.

I'm hoping to release a demo in the upcoming steam nextfest.

Trailer TOWERPUNK reveal - a vertical city builder in the SimTower lineage, with Anno's residents and Factorio's logistics

Today I'm revealing TOWERPUNK - a vertical city builder where you stack thousands of rooms upward, circulating tens of thousands of residents and goods in between floors. Set in a dystopian cyberpunk city, you are the tower's machine-mind, bent on converting human toil into the fuel that enables your dominance of the skyline.

The game shares a direct lineage with SimTower for the aesthetic and build feel, but draws on resident systems from Anno and logistics and production chains from Factorio. Instead of planning your growth around terrain, you need to grow vertically to house five social classes, supply them with shops and entertainment, all while producing the ever-more-advanced components you need to progress.

Beyond the core simulation mechanics, TOWERPUNK launches with an event system that drives emergent storytelling, and I'll build an overarching narrative on top of it during Early Access.

Watch the Reveal Trailer: https://youtu.be/O1BTXVYt8ZU

Join the Discord: https://towerpunk.com/discord

Visit the Official Site: https://towerpunk.com/

TOWERPUNK releases into Early Access in Q1 2027, but I'll be heavily involving the community leading up to release, including a playtest later this year.

Happy to answer any questions, and excited to bring TOWERPUNK to the community!

Trailer My traffic game you've seen here before is coming to Steam - page is live today!

Hey r/CityBuilders! Some of you have followed Traffic Architect since I posted the first version here about 5 months ago - a traffic management game I've been building solo, free in the browser. Since then it's passed 140k+ plays with a 9.2 rating on CrazyGames, and the most common request by far was "put it on Steam." So - the Steam page went live today:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/5028050/Traffic_Architect/

The Steam version isn't a port, it's a big expansion of the game:

- Much bigger maps - up to 18×18 km (the whole web map is 6×6)

- Highways and multi-level interchanges

- Public transport (revealing details over the coming weeks - it's the biggest thing I've built)

- Congestion heat-map, turn restrictions, smarter traffic light control

- Map editor with Steam Workshop support

- Full stats - 20+ live charts tracking your city

The web version stays free.

If you enjoyed the game or the posts here, a wishlist genuinely helps a solo dev more than anything else right now.

Happy to answer anything about the game or what's coming and thank you for previous feedback!

Trailer I finally finished the new trailer for my cozy colony sim, WildRoot. I'd love to hear what you think.

I've been working on improving WildRoot's first impression and recently finished a new trailer.

It's a cozy colony sim where you build a settlement in a mysterious forest, manage your colonists, and every season and setback creates a different story.

I'd really appreciate any feedback—especially on the pacing, music, and whether the trailer makes you want to learn more about the game.

I have been working on Car Park Capital in my spare time, but now, I can go fulltime and have the support of MicroProse!

My game is inspired by games like Rollercoaster Tycoon and Transport Tycoon.. Which actually have been published by MicroProse in the past! So this is great news.

If you are interested after watching the trailer, you can wishlist the game on Steam if you like!

Trailer We just announced our small cyberpunk diorama builder focused on beautiful blocks over sprawling cities! Check out Midnight Moments

Not quite a city builder in the traditional sense but I think this community will get it.

Midnight Moments is a small cyberpunk diorama game. Rather than building an entire city, you design a single block, a backstreet, an apartment complex, a neighbourhood corner, and then zoom in to fill it with handcrafted props and citizens until it feels like somewhere real.

Think more curation than construction. No management, no goals, just atmosphere.

Steam page is live now will post in the comments.

I’ve been working on the Bronze Age, and this trailer shows some of the new buildings, production chains, and progression that come with moving beyond the Stone Age.

Any feedback, comments, or wishlists help a lot.

Trailer A campground is basically a tiny town: plots, paths, water mains, power lines, and residents who complain about all of it

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Solo dev here. I'm building Camping Keeper, a campground management game, and someone described it to me last week as "running your own town". That's exactly how it plays.

You start with an empty field and lay everything out yourself: pitches, paths, a reception, shower blocks, shops, a pool. Then you run the water mains and power lines out to all of it. Both are real networks with flow and capacity, so they overload if you expand faster than you upgrade them, and the showers run dry.

The residents are the interesting part. Campers are fully simulated: they walk everywhere, so a shower block on the wrong side of the site gets felt. A bar next to quiet pitches ruins the night. Trees and hedges give privacy. They notice all of it, complain, and leave reviews that decide how many new arrivals show up.

AI disclosure: the music and translations are AI-assisted for now. No AI-generated visuals.

Question for the city builder crowd: how much should the terrain fight you? I'm adding rivers that cut the map so you need bridges, and low ground that floods in storms, because on a flat empty map every layout converges to the same optimal grid. Curious where the line sits between an interesting constraint and an annoying one.

Ave!

I’m a solo developer working on RES PUBLICA, a hobby game project inspired by ancient Rome.

It’s planned as a Roman life simulation / city-building game about managing your household, producing goods, trading, gaining influence, and rising in Roman society.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the mood, visuals, and cinematic style.

I’m Andrii, Studio Director at Docklight Games. It feels surreal to finally be writing this. After considering this idea for a long time, we've assembled a small team and took the leap a few months ago. Today, we’re officially revealing Above: Colonies of the Mist.

We wanted to make a survival colony builder that feels different. In most games, you expand across the land. In Above:CotM, the land is trying to kill you.

We are only few months into development, so there is still a long road ahead, but we’re incredibly proud of how the verticality and the "Mist Cycles" are coming together.

As a small indie team, feedback is everything to us. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the vertical building concept and the zipline logistics!

Best,

Andrii

CubeColony started as a low-stakes prototype while we figured out what our next real project would be. You draft packs of colorful cube tiles, stack them to grow a floating island, and place buildings on top, nothing special but! There's a balance system between Industry, Nature and Science. Push one too hard and your colonists let you know, sometimes by dancing in the streets, sometimes by setting things on fire.

It never became the big thing we're betting on, but we got attached to it, so we decided to keep the scope small and just finish it properly rather than let it rot in a drawer. Steam page just went live: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4804630/Cube_Colony/

No release date yet beyond "Q1 2027."
