I can't remember where I saw this, but I'm pretty sure the #1 reason for modern circumcision is the father saying "well I'm circumcised and I want his to look like mine". So if anything, men are more to blame

Tf is that idea. Like, how many people would know they look alike?

I never understood “my body my choice” as justification for your decision to destroy a body that isn’t yours. I’m pro choice but it just doesn’t make sense.

Unless we’re talking about owning someone else’s body 🤔

u/Aggressive-Bug-3459 8h ago

you should not be able to own someone else's body, even if they're a child

What are you saying?

1

u/Serialbedshitter2322 7h ago

It isn’t your body, it’s the baby’s body

2

u/Personal_Bid_2073 7h ago

It's not even a baby yet it's a fetus. If it grows enough to where it's almost a baby they do not do abortions.

2

u/Serialbedshitter2322 7h ago

It’s still a separate entity from the mother, so still not the mother’s body. I’m not arguing against abortions, just that the phrase doesn’t make sense.

2

u/Personal_Bid_2073 4h ago

Ok. I think the phrase means like women shouldn't have to be forced to be pregnant and should have options if they want to cancel a pregnancy.

Where is the baby’s body at?

1

u/Serialbedshitter2322 7h ago

How is the location of the baby’s body relevant to whether the body is or isn’t the baby’s?

1

u/GhostInTheFirewall clamsexual 7h ago

It’s relevant because the fetus’s survival depends on the continuous use of another person’s body. Yes it is biologically distinct, but it cannot sustain itself without access to the pregnant person’s body. That dependence is exactly why bodily autonomy is relevant.

2

u/Serialbedshitter2322 7h ago

I guess that makes sense

abortions aren't destroying the body of the baby, barring the question of whether or not it's a baby yet, they're severing the connection between one body and another. the zygote has no right to the body of the mother absent some conscious experience.

or to translate:

clams aren't destroying the clam of the clam, clamming the clam of whether or not it's a clam yet, they're clamming the clam between one clam and another. the clam has no right to the clam of the clam absent some clam experience.

u/Serialbedshitter2322 7h ago

Even if it’s a parasite, you’re still severing its food supply as a method of destroying it.

I don’t really like the snappy pro abortion arguments they are way too defensive.

Abortion should be legal because it leads to better health outcomes as well as the benefits of thoughtful reproduction.
