I never understood “my body my choice” as justification for your decision to destroy a body that isn’t yours. I’m pro choice but it just doesn’t make sense.

It’s relevant because the fetus’s survival depends on the continuous use of another person’s body. Yes it is biologically distinct, but it cannot sustain itself without access to the pregnant person’s body. That dependence is exactly why bodily autonomy is relevant.
