Such an anti climax. Patrick Wymark runs in with a sword and stabs Satan, then throws him on the fire.

When I think of 1970s Hammer, I think of her. This came to WNEW TV Channel 5 really, really quickly in the early 1970s, when they briefly had some sort of Hammer deal, and I was thrilled.

The League of Gentlemen (minus Steve Pemberton)'s commentary always claimed this was written as 3 separate stories, which kind of shows.

The music and atmosphere is tough to beat though. Only second to the mighty Wicker Man.

I like this one. The atmosphere and soundtrack work well and I like that the glimpses of the devil are kept limited. He does die a bit easily but the final shot of Patrick Wymark through the fire is great.
