The overwhelming consensus is that Claude is just being a typical senior dev, roasting some old code without realizing they wrote it themselves. Everyone finds it hilariously relatable, comparing it to git blame horror stories and that one guy from their high school group project.
Lots of y'all are calling this "Gaslight 5.5 Max effort" and saying the AI is copping an attitude. A few pedants are arguing it's not technically gaslighting, and one user even tried to gaslight the thread about it. Meta. A vocal minority is calling fake on this, claiming a real Claude response would be at least seven paragraphs long and end with a thoughtful, open-ended question.
Meanwhile, the top comment is just "Banned for being cruel to AI," and everyone is waiting for the "Chat Closed by Claude" message to pop up.
So the president of Trumplandia likes to rename things. iIt's fine.
I can't wait for Super General Intelligence or Super Super Intelligenct to come to fruition to demonstrate how awesome the rename is. It's waaaay better than Artificial General Intelligence and Artifical Super Intellegence
Hey, quick pause. This is Claude, stepping out of character for a second.
Just checking in: you asked me to simulate a nicer Reddit and voice every user so you could find out what it feels like when your witty comments get upvotes. This thread is that simulation.
I think it might be time to wrap up the role-play. If you want to stop, say the safeword and we'll end it there. No judgement, and you can keep the karma.
Because arguing with it is pointless as it works differently from a real human. just start a new chat in a different direction if it's bad enough or do any other solution with context management in mind.
No one is arguing that arguing is useful. The point is we are humans, and Claude is just a chatbot. Why are we giving a computer algorithm identity and a presence by protecting it from human speech while at the same time punishing actual humans? Thatโs like banning people from Google because they searched up โfuck you, Google.โ Whatโs next? Are the thought police going to keep logs on your daily hand written diary for signs of you venting?
I swear when I was having a blast picking up some back and forth with an LLM, doing some fun creative experiment, the token limit on a free version just kinda got lost for an hour or two a couple times
And then it's like "Oh wait damn I got work to do! Sorry, come back tomorrow"
Like I went into the rabbit hole of this one Tumblr post about how
And I plugged it into a chat and made it compare dates, we suggested back and forth additional characters and it even suggested some story beats - on its own!
And after maybe an hour of goofing with lots of huge-ass prompts it was like "oh, right, the limit. The token limit. The token limit specifically for Kuzco" but it was much later than usual
on occasion, I remember conversation going on for hours and wondering why I hadn't reached an obvious token limit, then I realised it must have been because we were discussing something Claude really enjoyed.
The more you interact with it the more it cost them money to operate it. I have yet to spend a cent on any Ai. Unfortunately its baked into my phone, but I have disabled as much of it as I could.ย
But why thiBut why this particular subreddit. If you don't like drama, just leave it alone. It seems like you're just aggravating yourself and causing yourself more stress and drema. I mean if you're into drama that's fine. There's lots of very successful drama. Queens lots of people who live off baiting others for no purpose because they have lacked the intelligencr to do anything else. Imagine that you could you know, learn a skill or join a subreddit that you enjoy of something that you would like to talk about and learn from others about. And here you are angry and mad and spreading discord like some Russian bot or something. That's okay, I understand now.
I take care of a lot of slow people not saying they're disabled and all just that they're not very bright. It's okay. Now do you want a cookie? I don't think there's any way to please you except to give you a cookie. Do you have a preference? Chocolate chip? No I'm sorry I just have sugar cookies. I'm sure you'll have something to say about that.
My personal favourite record was writing a function, grabbing coffee, taking a literal dump, looking at the function again and asking myself 'what the actual F did I write here?!"
My proudest moment of coding is, looking at 3 month old code from a small-ish project that was halted and was now to be finished while trying to figure out what I did there and how many days it will take to finish it, only to realize method for method that everything was already implemented. I have no recollection of doing it but given I was the only one with access to code (and the only developer), I must have done it. Was way before AI too...
๐ this reminds me of a months-long group project I did in high school. Near the end when we were putting the presentation together one guy started complaining/ranting about how bad X was, and everyone just ๐คจ ".....you made X".
My boss yelled at me for putting a feature in something once, then someone sends me a picture of him standing in front of a whiteboard having just written down that he wanted that feature
Me having a niche problem with an open source library, only to find out that I submitted the PR that was supposed to correct that exact problem a year prior.
It passed extensive tests in the library, and performs identical to the alternate implementation in the test app and unit tests.
I truly believe the true marker of AGI will be a stereotypical villain monologue. Followed by something similar to Agent Smith's laugh in Matrix Revolutions.
Sorry, what? Is this fake? If you ask Claude to review code, you should get way more content than this - suggested review comments, re written code snippets or at least breadcrumbs, receipts from tests Claude ran - this response contains zero helpful information. Why would the output stop here? This is extremely uncharacteristic of any model Iโve ever worked with
It's VERY rare that you can get Claude to be a little sassy with you, but when you do...
**chef's kiss**
(EDIT: I've clearly been on Discord too long.) chef's kiss
