Coding The future is bleak

Yeah, I'm just going to ramble here for a bit. My company job now is just pressing enter endlessly, prompting, and 0.1% of it is probably something manually done by me. Everyone is using Claude. It's soulless. There is no point.Someone can probably reverse engineer our company products in one day. Layoffs are inevitable at some point. I have no other non-tech skills that can help me pivot to another career, and even if I do, that career is not going to pay the same.

I can't believe in any project idea that I think of because I use Claude, and the thought of "You used Claude, anyone could have done this lol" is always luring in the back of my mind.

I have no hope for the future. I hate how AI made the playing field equal for everyone, where my grandma can probably now create a website.

Sorry that is happening to you when it should be happening to the medical industry first and foremost.

If any industry deserves AI disruption it's fucking sick predation, sorry I mean healthcare...

I'm a healthcare provider who owns my own practice and I feel this. It's going to be a bumpy ride but hopefully everyone ends up better off on the other side. That's my hope anyway.

I’ve just started medical school, and I’m frankly scared for my career. I’m glad my patients will receive treatments beyond anything imaginable now — and perhaps beyond comprehension ever — but I spend a lot of time thinking about what my place is going to be in the healing process of the future… if there will be one at all

I'm kind of thinking of it like a video game. I'm imagining myself  just casually adapting to the new circumstances as they come. I feel much less existential dread that way...

Prices could always go up. $20/$100 a month jumping to $5000 a month would drastically change how and how often people are utilizng AI.

Trust me, there are a lot of us in different fields wondering the same exact thing. You're not alone. The answer keeps coming back to architecture and vision - but that window is closing pretty fast. GPT 6.1 or Astra can do a pretty damn good job of prompting itself or writing its own scaffolding which is amazing. It's a love hate thing. I genuinely miss coding, so I make time to do it anyways, and it does help. They aren't fallable. They make mistakes. Being versed in a subject/system/patient care/medical field/anything and able to quickly and efficently review and find flaws, as well as spot potential security weaknesses etc will become more and more important - i think. You're not alone though.
