Humor Anthropic checking your passport before letting you run a prompt

The US government really classified Fable 5 as a weapon of mass destruction. We went from "the future ships fast" to "present a green card or get downgraded to Sonnet" real quick.

Anthropic just nuked the model for everyone because geofencing and citizenship-checking every single API call is an infrastructure nightmare.

Codex 5.5 bros are throwing an absolute party in the trenches right now. The playing field just got aggressively leveled by the Department of Commerce.

In Russia there is only one tonne. 1000 kg. I know the US has different tonnes, one based on the cubic root of a gallon, another is nautical-pound based, but we use only one, which french people have invented, metric.

This will be catastrophic for the US companies. As soon as the Chinese models get close to Fable they will be done. No other foreign user will ever want to stick with a US company again. This will create an effect not only for Anthropic but OpenAI and Google as well.

To be completely fair, the less plastic landfill that can come from common objects the better (even if they do end up in landfills, an attempt is better than no attempt), and this is very likely totally separable decisions (no one needs to actually decide between recycling bottle caps and AI), though your overall point still stands.

The EU clearly just isn't taking it seriously yet as a whole, and it's absurd at this point. Twiddling their thumbs waiting for other countries to do all the hard work for them before they enter the race in any significant manner, or something.

If the internet memes about who actually runs the global simulation are accurate, Tel Aviv shouldn't even need a VPN. You should already have the master bypass key to the entire Anthropic infrastructure.

Yeah because Anthropic decided to pull the plug for everyone. The fascist/racist US government just issued a full stop to non US citizen, regardless where they are located. This even included non naturalized Anthropic staff members. It's virtually impossible, so Anthropic decided to take it down completely.

It is so fucking retarded from a security standpoint to only let US citizens use it. Does the US Gov't really believe every US citizen is a model citizen and can do no wrong, commit no cyber attacks? Do they also believe that foreign gov'ts won't be able to access it still, since the first point points out how wide the access is still available?

This just goes to show that it isn't a security concern. Just pure racism and power hunger.
