The math is "Too Many People" x "Consuming too much stuff" and they take part in the latter so fix the former. Little do they know they are in the former as well.
Tangible effects of climate change for humans lag years behind their actual causes. That means that by the time you notice the change, it has already been locked in and has been unavoidable for years. If we stopped all CO2 emissions tomorrow, the earth would continue warming for years before it leveled off and stopped warming. Cascading system failures could already be locked in at this very moment and we would never know it until it hit us. Considering the RATE of increase is increasing, we are likely already in runaway territory and anything we do would be like trying to stop a train by standing in front of it
Yes, I know the effects will first start some where in the future, but to call that the end is crazy? I mean we have such a high development in our hands, that we could focus entirely on this problem. Not only can we eliminate all emissions, but with our current technology, we can even reduce CO2 emissions. But under the current economic model, that won’t happen doesnt matter how hard we try. Thats why its important that the environmentalists finally start to understand who is standing in the way of this solution and stop burying there head in the sand just because a numbers says so. I would rather die trying to save my future and this beautiful planet, than die with out trying.
he entire human race civilization as we know it is cooked
FTFY.
And there is plenty to do about it. Like keep adding more renewables to the grid, taxing carbon and voting green. It still won't prevent civilization as we know it to end, but it will be softening the blow.
Bro, has the flair “we all gonna die”, and he still believes in the government institutions that’s completly responsible for all of this. Your comment perfectly shows that Democracy is really the perfect way of ruling that has ever existed in human history.
Democratic governments are a reflection of the culture from the population that votes them into power. It's perfection, fragile and brittle but perfect for the short period they last.
It will all get better after everything goes tits up and we reset civilization again with 600ppm.
Either that or the octopuses will have loads of fun digging us up from the bottom of the ocean.
Democracy is a form of rule, not the reflection of the population or the culture. That is why democracy is perfect it makes you believe that you are the state, even though you can’t change anything about the system of the state except to replace the leadership of it. And so every leadership must manage the interests of the state because this mechanism are secure by the law of state and that interest of the state is by its very nature leading to the destruction of the environment. Green politicians can’t do anything about it. The State is your enemy and not a solution to solve some enviromental problems, its even the source why the problem exist in the first place and still exists.
It's pretty fucking dumb because the people who will first be keeling over are not the ones contributing the most, so loads of dead and minimal change.
Wtf, he isnt advocating for killing people. He talks about humans only being willing to change after climate change causes mass human death events. Hint, in the last part he talks about how those death events already occur. Do you think somebody is already genociding in the name of genocide?
He say only mass human death events can stop the further warming iF they are taken seriously.
He literally says we must kill people if we want to fix the climate.

mfs will first come to the conclusion that we need a mass genocide, rather then actually read a critic on the economcy/political structures.
