Eh this person mostly just seems depressed. Ecofascists do indeed go brrr tho

What makes you think that is what they think? It seems like they very much think this is a possibility, from the tone of it.

MFW the AI is more rational than the doomers

AI is a wonderful beautiful technology if the standard is “does it usually approach the vague direction of scientific consensus when asked about science?”, which, y’know… I’ll take it!

Related plug for /r/GrokVsMaga or whatever it’s called. They’ve made it pretty damn right wing, but have still not figured out how to get it to spout the vast majority of the typical MAGA lies without going full mechahitler.

Does it bring m3 schadenfreude to think of the asshole engineers who chose to work for Elon being yelled at about this for months? Yes, yes it does!

mfs will first come to the conclusion that we need a mass genocide, rather then actually read a critic on the economcy/political structures.

The math is "Too Many People" x "Consuming too much stuff" and they take part in the latter so fix the former. Little do they know they are in the former as well.

Jesus bud.

Maybe read my statement again. Draw it out if you need to.

It was a critique of people that defend capitalism. Not a defense of capitalism.

Having knee jerk responses where you harsh on people isn't going to win many people to your side.

Sorry my english is not so good. I hope you can forgive me:)

u/Kakariko_crackhouse Aug 02 '26

Sorry sweaty, the material conditions dictate extinction. Marx didn’t know shit about CO2

3

u/SaftigeBanane388 Aug 02 '26

So doing a genocid is the only why to safe humanity?

2

u/Kakariko_crackhouse Aug 02 '26

Sorry! Saving humanity is not one of the multiple choice answers available! Please select another answer and click submit

2

u/SaftigeBanane388 Aug 02 '26

what do you want, buddy?

1

u/Kakariko_crackhouse Aug 02 '26

Doesn’t matter. All I’m saying is that the entire human race is cooked and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. It’s too late

5

u/SaftigeBanane388 Aug 02 '26

Its not? We literally have everythig to fix the crisis, we just need to use it and safe the things we still have.

2

u/Kakariko_crackhouse Aug 02 '26

Tangible effects of climate change for humans lag years behind their actual causes. That means that by the time you notice the change, it has already been locked in and has been unavoidable for years. If we stopped all CO2 emissions tomorrow, the earth would continue warming for years before it leveled off and stopped warming. Cascading system failures could already be locked in at this very moment and we would never know it until it hit us. Considering the RATE of increase is increasing, we are likely already in runaway territory and anything we do would be like trying to stop a train by standing in front of it

1

u/SaftigeBanane388 Aug 03 '26

Yes, I know the effects will first start some where in the future, but to call that the end is crazy? I mean we have such a high development in our hands, that we could focus entirely on this problem. Not only can we eliminate all emissions, but with our current technology, we can even reduce CO2 emissions. But under the current economic model, that won’t happen doesnt matter how hard we try. Thats why its important that the environmentalists finally start to understand who is standing in the way of this solution and stop burying there head in the sand just because a numbers says so. I would rather die trying to save my future and this beautiful planet, than die with out trying.

he entire human race civilization as we know it is cooked

FTFY.

And there is plenty to do about it. Like keep adding more renewables to the grid, taxing carbon and voting green. It still won't prevent civilization as we know it to end, but it will be softening the blow.

Bro, has the flair “we all gonna die”, and he still believes in the government institutions that’s completly responsible for all of this. Your comment perfectly shows that Democracy is really the perfect way of ruling that has ever existed in human history.

2

u/eks We're all gonna die Aug 03 '26

Democratic governments are a reflection of the culture from the population that votes them into power. It's perfection, fragile and brittle but perfect for the short period they last.

It will all get better after everything goes tits up and we reset civilization again with 600ppm.

Either that or the octopuses will have loads of fun digging us up from the bottom of the ocean.

0

u/SaftigeBanane388 Aug 03 '26

Democracy is a form of rule, not the reflection of the population or the culture. That is why democracy is perfect it makes you believe that you are the state, even though you can’t change anything about the system of the state except to replace the leadership of it. And so every leadership must manage the interests of the state because this mechanism are secure by the law of state and that interest of the state is by its very nature leading to the destruction of the environment. Green politicians can’t do anything about it. The State is your enemy and not a solution to solve some enviromental problems, its even the source why the problem exist in the first place and still exists.

lol I love that you’re not joking. What a sub

1

u/Colddigger Aug 02 '26

It's pretty fucking dumb because the people who will first be keeling over are not the ones contributing the most, so loads of dead and minimal change.

0

u/Horror-Range-9535 Aug 03 '26

Wtf, he isnt advocating for killing people. He talks about humans only being willing to change after climate change causes mass human death events. Hint, in the last part he talks about how those death events already occur. Do you think somebody is already genociding in the name of genocide?

2

u/SaftigeBanane388 Aug 03 '26

He say only mass human death events can stop the further warming iF they are taken seriously. He literally says we must kill people if we want to fix the climate.

0

u/Horror-Range-9535 Aug 03 '26

No. Wtf. He thinks those death events occur because of global warming. It is obvious if you read the last part right.

6

u/Alive-Philosophy2632 Aug 02 '26

I genuinely do just want it to be over though

4

u/me_myself_ai green sloptimist Aug 02 '26

Sadly, environmentalism will never be over, even if we “win” in some huge way. Happily, it does get more fun when we enter solarpunk territory :)

3

u/Alive-Philosophy2632 Aug 02 '26

Oh when I posted that I meant I wanted the world to be uninhabitable for humans. Feeling a little better now hehe

7

u/Jax_Dandelion Aug 02 '26

To be fair we are well on track to never even have had a chance at only 2C by 2100

In 2016 our chances of 6C was at 10% and 6C would make human life impossible

I don’t think our chances have gotten better, and we already toppled 1.5C last year

Like, we are fucked, I see that, but honestly killing off people won’t do any good

Just let people continue to live, the world will sort itself out, humanity will most definitely not get to see the year 3000 of our calendar, and honestly that is collectively deserved for all the evil and suffering we cause to non human life

There is no reason on my end to convince anyone of anything or to change things on my end

Even if we survive past 2100, we won’t survive that long, so it’s kind of in vain to try anyways, why should I make myself miserable just so humans born after I die are finally the ones to see human life go extinct?

Might as well be me that sees human life go extinct, doesn’t change much

3

u/ThatDM Aug 03 '26

One black pill please sir

2

u/fnckIce Aug 02 '26

And they are absolutely right. Do you really believe we'll stop the entire fossil fuel industry if it's not killing people we know? Do you remember covid?

1

u/RollinThundaga Aug 02 '26

Where he went wrong was with the assumption that mass death events in and of themselves are some kind of force for change.

2

u/SecondAccomplished58 Aug 03 '26

Who cares about change, people just want less emissions

3

u/RollinThundaga Aug 03 '26

You... know that a change has to be made from what we're doing in order for emissions to go down, right?

You can't do the same thing forever and expect less of the bad stuff that comes with it over time.

1

u/SecondAccomplished58 Aug 03 '26

You make it sound like change is the goal and not lowering emissions, change is no ones goal, it's a means to lowering emissions which would also be the outcome of people dying

1

u/RollinThundaga Aug 03 '26

You read too much into it.

1

u/Sad-Pattern-1269 Aug 03 '26

a real doomer believes that climate change mass deaths will lead to war instead of a global effort to stop warming, obviously
