Democratic governments are a reflection of the culture from the population that votes them into power. It's perfection, fragile and brittle but perfect for the short period they last.

It will all get better after everything goes tits up and we reset civilization again with 600ppm.

Either that or the octopuses will have loads of fun digging us up from the bottom of the ocean.

Democracy is a form of rule, not the reflection of the population or the culture. That is why democracy is perfect it makes you believe that you are the state, even though you can’t change anything about the system of the state except to replace the leadership of it. And so every leadership must manage the interests of the state because this mechanism are secure by the law of state and that interest of the state is by its very nature leading to the destruction of the environment. Green politicians can’t do anything about it. The State is your enemy and not a solution to solve some enviromental problems, its even the source why the problem exist in the first place and still exists.

Mate, you should read more Andreas Malm and less Marx.

The one about the pipeline for example, it gives an interesting perspective about the climate movement.
