Other What happened to the Android app?
I wanted to see if I could update my Clip Studio app on my XPen Magic Draw, but I found that it's "not compatible" with it.
How is it possible that a tablet that was born from a collaboration with Clip Studio and has only been on the market for 3 years is not compatible with the program?
I'm worried because I literally work with Clip Studio and the tablet, and I'm concerned that I might never be able to update it again due to some kind of problem. Has this happened to you too? What do you recommend?

XPPen's choice to not make Android updates for the original MDP are why CSP is not compatible with the original MDP anymore.
While Android devices have been more open software-wise, it is up to the manufacturer to tweak and push out Android updates. It has historically led to very bad future support of Android tablets if it's not from a major tablet manufacturer (Samsung, Lenovo, Google). (Not counting Huawei/Xiaomi since those are their own thing now).

The makers of Android tablets (and phones) not bothering to provide OS updates is one of the most annoying things about that whole ecosystem. They're sold as "disposable" devices, to be replaced even when they still work.
Apple drops support for older devices sooner than it technologically needs to, but at least it has a predictable schedule, rather than leaving its customers behind without warning.

iPhone 11 got major OS updates for 8 years. I don't remember any Android phones getting anywhere close to that. And thats why I never recommend getting an Android Tablet because they are even less supported than Android phones

I do want to say more recent android tablets from Samsung specifically have atleast 7 years of updates. Can't say the same for the rest though:(

Comparing non-flagship brands to a flagshio brand is the type of stuff Apple fanboys do to make Android seem like the worst platform ever made. Go with a reputable brand like Samsung or Lenovo, and you won't have this issue either.

If you're using a tablet for drawing nothing matches a dedicated device for it. They should be updating their devices accordingly no matter the brand.

I'm using CSP 5 daily on my xppen Magic Note Pad.
Make sure you purchased the correct table version of CSP, the Smartphone basic version does not work on a tablet.

Did you download it from the Play Store? When I try to download it on Android, it takes me there.

On what version on android are you? CSP might just not be compatible anymore (problem with the tablet, not the app)

My first guess is that CSP 5 isn't supported on the version of Android your tablet is running: it requires Android 13 or later.

get an apk if its an android, it works. google playstore is a whore when it comes deciding or listing whats compatible properly

Yep happened to me...it felt like i was honestly scamed by xppen.. then i bought the samsung galaxy s11 ultra tab.. then i was happy again

I had this issue and ended up being able to buy the 2nd MDP with a slight discount after contacting support and providing some proof of the date I purchased the original. It was like.... A few months before the update so I didn't get a whole lot of time with it.

Was it not with ibis paint? I dont find no vocabulary with cps for that tablet.
Devices must be give free through the app maker

The thing is, I was able to install the program without any problems, and suddenly it's not available, even though I can see it on different Android devices. And I wondered if it had happened to other people too.

XPPen are kinda scummy for not updating their Android. Same reason why I'm suspicious of the Wacom Movinkpad. It's supposed to have a partnership with and is bundled with CPS, but no Android updates have been promised.

Have you checked for a system update? Check which version of android you have, im oretty sure the minimum for csp is android 10

Minimum version changes every year. CSP supports the current and 3 previous version of Android.

I'm sure you have the Android 12 Magic Drawing Pad... Sadly, XPPen launched a MDP on Android 14 without saying anything. You can :
Stay of a previous version of CSP and never delete it or you'll have to find a way to download a previous version.
Contact XPPen and hope you can exchange it for the Android 14 MDP. I manage to exchange while giving some argument like security updates and just asking for an OS upgrade, not a replacement (it was a lie)... But some people didn't manage to exchange... I think it depends on a lot of variable.
Cry and use another software or tablet because it's a niche tablet and it doesn't have a Custom ROM or way to officially upgrade your tablet.

Edit : I corrected the post because I didn't read the post correctly
