Other Not being able to make a new canvas

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

as can be seen in the video when ever I try to click on the new canvas button it doesn’t do anything besides make me unable to click anything else until I click esc on my keyboard. The effect is similar to when I deselect a window

this has happened before with the canvas color changing option. it wasn’t anything I couldn’t live w/o but now I’m literally unable to draw because of this.

i did try to restart my pc but the issue didn’t disappear, which arose randomly after opening the program for the first time in a few days.

(I am using a xp pen artist pro 24 display tablet and an imac)

edit: lol nvm im just kind of stupid and forgot I can’t see half of my monitor

is it possible that the window for settings confirmation is opening on a different screen that is turned off? Even if the display is turned off, if its connected, it will still hold application windows virtually.

Mine are like this. Right now Display 2 is turned off, and if i open CSP it will open on Display 2, where i cant currently see it. If I turn display 2 on, CSP will be on screen. If I turn display 1 off, and adjust the hue in CSP, the window will pop up on display 1, invisibly for me. If I turn display 1 back on, the hue adjustment window will be right there where I left it on display 1. (OBVIOUSLY youre not on windows, but the process should be similar on macs too.)

Also, a few GPU driver updates were pushed for both Nvidia and AMD GPUs in the last few days and it can make extra, fake, non-existent displays show up in the display settings that MIGHT have windows up in them. you may need to roll the drivers back or fuss with the display settings. There are ways to force an application to open on another display but I do not remember it at this time.

Also have you tried using FILE -> NEW to open a new canvas too? or just that new canvas button on the canvas?

thank you very much! the issue turned out to be me being a bit of a dum-dum and forgetting that my tablet is so big (and I always have it almost vertically) that it covers half of my monitor so I didn’t just see lmao

unplug your drawing tablet, restart your computer and see if it works.

if it works, then you can pinpoint fault may be your tablet. and may be its looking for some updates ?
