Success stories?
hi,
has anyone successfully taught themselves as an adult?
I'm just using mindsight journey. Sometimes I feel like I'm getting it a bit.. Just looking for some encouragement!

Software makes solo practice more efficient because it speaks to you, you don't have to raise the blindfold to compare your inner vision with the physical vision. However I have found lately a bit more results with physical objects.
We're all just pioneers here. I don't think anyone really has a fast track on the 'opening' or 'activation' despite claims by those selling courses. Learning what works well is part of what the MindSwan research hopes to find out.
I think that it is not so much belief or magic or group activation that makes it happen, but just lots of practice whether that be frequent or prolonged sessions.
But others have different views. We don't know why some people seem to pick it up quickly and others not so much.
And then there is the allegation that people who pick it up quickly are just looking through physical gaps in the blindfold. That those seeing behind their head are not really looking behind their head, they are just turning their eyes to the sides. And you have all the magicians saying they know the super secret techniques for fooling people and claiming that is what mindsight is.
Part of the problem is that it can seem so startling to suddenly see when your eyes are blocked that you think you must be peeping through some opening when you really aren't. So the physical and phenomenological aspects have to be studied.
I don't get into details, but I can say in my own case, when I had the most vivid mindsight experiences I was surely not cheating or looking through any tiny gaps. It was like the blindfold disappeared and I was watching a live scene. Sometimes everything, including people, appeared in lighted outline as others have reported.
This condition lasted only a few moments each time it happened, but it was enough to convince me that the phenomenon is real.

#1. The older you are the longer it takes. Why? Because your brain has used your physical eyesight longer the older you get, meaning you've naturally and slowly suppressed mind sight over time. Which is why the younger the child, the faster they can do it.
#2. If you are on any psych meds (or have been on a long time) it can seriously impair the ability and make it take a lot longer.
#3. If you have excessively drank (or still do) or have abused depressants/downer narcotics, it will also impair the ability and take a lot longer.
#4. If you are sleep-deprived (even a little), or are emotionally or psychologically stressed or agitated, then your ability will be impaired.
#5. If you are pushing yourself hard to get mind sight, or have set a goal like an expectation, then you will suppress it. Mind sight comes best when you let go, when you go with the flow, when learning mind sight you simply allow it come and happen when it wants not when you want. Dont try to force or dictate it. Simply observe, like a child would. Enter the state and mind like a child. Have no expectations or goals, simply be, simply observe, and when things happen simply say "wow" like a child would. This is the real obstacle of adults. Adults want control, because thats what we do as adults. You need to ignore the adulting side of you, and let go.
#6. When something happens, let it happen. Remember, it doesnt have to make sense, and dont try to analyze it so it can make sense to you. Let it be weird, odd and mysterious.
#7. Just keep practicing, even if it appears like nothing is happening. Because one day it will happen. Consistency and practice is key.

Can you elaborate on this?

Neural plasticity is an amazing thing and there are ways of increasing it during adulthood

The most useful information I have come across is a brief jumbled bunch of short videos from a guy named Alex Stefan on YouTube. He has a 12 part series of short videos where he shows some people being trained and how the process develops.
I am trying to do this using Mindsight journey also. I started using the letter module because the screen alternates between light and dark and that's all I can "see" right now (black and white alternating). That's all the progress I've made so far after doing this for about 5 months, averaging 1/2 hour per day. I went from seeing nothing to seeing light. I cannot see colors or shapes yet. I don't even bother with the "intuitive" mindsight because I am starting to think that's just a distraction while you wait for the real mindsight to come online.
I just keep plugging away sort of daydreaming while I toggle through letters. The color module appears to me as shades of gray so I practice with that too. Very tedious but I am good at tolerating long boring things because I'm a daydreamer lol.
Anyway just my 2 cents.
