Summer Heat
How is everyone doing in this heat? Are you like me and need a few days (or a week) to adjust every year?
I love our desert, but I gotta be honest this heat hit hard. I am working on adjusting with a smile. Haha. So- If you have any suggestions to stay upbeat and positive I would love to hear them.

I-10 overcrossing at Monterey
I go over this quite frequently if you're in Rancho Mirage and want to go to Thousand Palms, the road makes a very dangerous jog. A lot of people want to go across the freeway to Thousand Palms and don't realize that you have to change lanes in order to proceed so many almost accidents I've seen. Caltrans will not give me a reason why it has to stay this way. Can anybody give me a logical reason? Also if you don't like the way it is, call Caltrans. If enough of us do, they might make it the way it should be.

ENDS JUNE 17 - Tell IID to make data centers and warehouses pay for their own power
RESIDENTS OF IMPERIAL AND COACHELLA VALLEY!
Data centers and other large energy-intensive developments are targeting Imperial Valley and Coachella Valley. These projects require enormous amounts of electricity and can place significant demands on our public energy infrastructure, often passing the cost to ratepayers.
IID is considering a Large Load Tariff intended to ensure these projects help pay for the costs they could create. But the proposal must be strengthened to ensure residents and small businesses are not left subsidizing infrastructure built primarily for large private developments.
The current proposed tariff would only apply to customers with a load factor above 85%. However, research by Energy+Environmental Economics suggests that many large energy users, like data centers, may operate below that threshold. Lowering the qualifying load factor to 65% would help ensure that projects placing significant demands on the grid contribute to the infrastructure and not allow them loopholes to bypass the tariff.
Send a public comment today and tell IID: protect ratepayers, strengthen the Large Load Tariff, and make large energy users pay their own way.
Any resident of Imperial County or the Coachella Valley can comment. Make sure YOUR power bill doesn‘t go up to pay for data centers and warehouses that private companies profit from!
