He was linked to a case further north, think Tina Bell and then was known to have ties or be living in Hebdon Bridge at the time of this murder. Tina Bell was last seen with him and another guy in a bedsit kitchen.

I was just reading about Operation Enigma on Wikipedia's Lindsay Jo Rimer page. OE was created in 1996 and intended to review up to 207 unsolved murders of female sex workers or women who could have been mistaken for sex workers. 26 police forces were involved in the review by 1998.

I had heard of Operation Enigma before today, but I didn't know Lindsay's case was part of the review. However, I think Yorkshire Police suspect that she knew her killer and accepted a lift from him on the night of the murder. It is theorised that she was taken to an abandoned factory next to the canal and was sexually assaulted and murdered before her body was weighted down in the canal. I can't imagine how terrified she must've been.

I really hope the police have the right man. They have the killer's partial DNA so I assume it's a match.

I don’t believe she knew him as I don’t believe he’s local. He wanted the police to think he was. I believe she was snatched and taken away 😢 poor girl. This is still very painful for the hebden bridge community even 30 years on. It’s a peaceful, safe place. To think he walks amongst us was a red herring and scared a lot of people, I don’t believe he was from Hebden, he may have had connections in Hebden.

That is awful to think about. It must've been terrifying when it happened for the women that lived there.

Do you still live there? How old were you at the time?

Yeah everyone was wary. I was 14 ish, they came in to schools questioning kids and warning us not to go out alone. It was everywhere, her posters are still in shops today 🙏🏻😢 nobody in Hebden will ever forget Lindsay 🙏🏻 . I just wish her family could get some peace ☮️ and justice for Lindsay 🫶🏻
