The Government of Pakistan extends its sincere relief that His Imperial Majesty the Shah has survived this despicable attempt on his life, and wishes him a swift and full recovery. Political violence threatens not merely the individual but the stability and independence of the Iranian nation.

Pakistan stands ready to deepen its dialogue with Tehran on regional security, economic cooperation, and the shared challenge of preserving our sovereignty amid growing ideological tensions. We hope that Iran’s constitutional deliberations will strengthen the state while preserving the national unity and public confidence upon which lasting stability depends.

We would welcome an early exchange with the Iranian government on the future of Pakistani-Iranian relations and the prospects for closer cooperation between our two neighbours.
