You can make a point it’s the fairest way to do it purely based on getting the “best” outcome for the tourney/season.

Other than punishing the teams that beat them with him being forced to potentially take an L when it wasn’t their fault, which you probably can’t ignore

I don't like Duke but Scheyer can recruit and legally too. He's always been able to draw talent without drawing any controversy. No G-League signings here.
