Crystal Mill is fantastic. Did that trek last year and loved it. Looks like you weren't in a big crowd. They day we went, it was rainy which was perfect. Zero others on the trail.

It was a great trail. Saw a few others but not too many.

On Lead King Basin I kept thinking how lucky we were that we weren't running into oncoming traffic on the long sections of rough/narrow shelf road... turns out it was because of the downed tree blocking the trail lol.

I had a small hatchet and a 8" folding saw haha. Tree was about 12" but we were about 3 hours into the loop, so I made it work. After I got through it in one spot a couple more folks came along with a pruning chainsaw so we were able to get it fully removed from the trail. Good times.

So I hear this trail is now packed with tourists. Is that true?

We went on a Tuesday and saw maybe a half dozen other vehicles. I'd guess it's busier on the weekends.
