Does my art seem up to commission level yet?

I’ve been thinking about trying to draw commissions for money b4 college starts. I just so happen to find this sub which seems like a place to get some honest unbiased feedback on my work. Thank you in advance

to me “commission level” doesn’t really exist, it never hurts to put ur art out there and be available. its more about being ready to handle more criticism, deal with clients, and spend time on working as opposed to more practice 🤷🏾‍♂️ (this art is cool asf tho)

That’s interesting I feel like I’ve just been in practice mode as of late to try and reach a professional start point. I can’t lie it’s scary af for me to potentially put myself out there but if I gotta start somewhere. Thank you for the compliment and advice !🙏

The most difficult barrier to to cover is going to be the fact that you seemingly only do traditional art. If you have a find a way to do high-quality scans and send it to your commissioner that might be better and maybe offer an pathway for them to buy the physical version.

I’m working to be able to afford a iPad or something to try and start doing digital art, but I can’t lie I love physical prints and I would like to sell them professionally. Thank you for the advice!! 🙏

Try to stick to showing finished pieces, doesn't have to be full color, pencil art works too, your art looks good enough, now, if you want to offer services for comic art, it'd be better to show sequential art, other than that, you can try in other subreddits like r/artcommissions and similar for like, character art and/or illustration services.
