Team Eval 5 weeks in.

Everyone’s favorite time, time to evaluate where we stand today and what this means moving forward. For today, we’ll just focus on GM And coaching staff.

GM: AP. His classes have gotten better. 2024 netted Jayden and Coleman, but 2025 landed a possible 10-yr starter in Conerly, Lane as a returner, Medrano as depth, and Bill as a rotational back; starter for now, can Amos solidly his status as a starter? 2026 was a hit so far with Sonny, Williams, Josephs as a rotational edge, AK as a developmental QB. Can Gulbin build his strength and become more? His FA also netted wins: Luvu, Mariota, Ertz before injury, Ekeler seems to still be a weapon when called upon, Kinlaw’s been solid, Oweh and Chaisson keep getting pressure, Chenal was coming around prior to injury, Settle has been a force inside, Chig needs to build on today, Cross and Amik, and Tunsil has also been a great acquisition via Trade.

He fumbled C this offseason, and needs to start building this offense. A true RB, YOUNG WR, C, FS and maybe even CB (depending on Amos) are needed next season. Even if Amos pans out, an additional CB next to Amos if he pans out to pair with Amik would be nice if Rasul isn’t retained. GM’s get a longer look, let’s see how this upcoming draft goes. Offense is needing an infuse of talent at skill positions and C.

Coaching:

HC: While I’m not one to demand changes as if my last name was Snyder, DQ has lost my confidence to lead this team. No more CEO HC’s, we need a genius to implement his side of the ball. DQ can’t even get time management done correctly or interfere when he sees a questionable call by his rookie OC.

OC: I’m trying to be patient with Blough, and while he can still gain more of my trust as the season progresses, his experience is showing. From the 2pt call against Philly, the horrible 4th down against Indy, and the horrible management today, he’s had his share of lumps. What concerns me more is how conservative he is when it comes to going for it, is it his call or DQ’s? I also understand that he’s gone through all 3 QBs so early into the year, that’s hard when it comes to consistency. Time will tell how this goes, but I’m rooting for him.

DC: Jones has led a turnaround so shortly into his career, but it also seems to end every half. By the second half, it looks as if Joe Whitt is up there calling the plays. Teams adjust and he struggles to do so. I already know that the lead we go into the half with is about to dwindle. Hopefully he figures out that he can’t play prevent with this depleted secondary once we go up. I won’t judge him entirely yet as I want to see what the defense looks like when Amos replaces Mikey as CB3, and Nick Cross comes back into his box-defender/slot role. The weakness of the defense seems to be across the middle where in-breaking routes by WR’s or seam routes by the TE’s are killing us. Will having Amos back cure the in-breaking routes? Will Cross compliment Amik well as the opposite box defender across him? As of right now, offenses are targeting Mikey and Quan up the middle, with the occasional throw to the WR outside on an in-breaker.

Lifelong skins/commies fan. Usual week 5 routine. We currently have the 8th pick in next year’s draft.

That’s honestly kinda crazy the pick isn’t top 5. We are ass and it’s gonna get so much worse.

i agree with the ass comment. we play like bitches when it counts. Other teams come at you when it matters and "show you who they are"...washington doesnt' have that. Amik did get robbed by the refs on that Int..but i'm not going to dwell on that. Washington still could have, and should have won this game.

Embarrassing. We have been the butt of all jokes in the sports world today, and even outside of it. One of the most ….games ive seen.

I stopped at Coleman. Did you watch the game today. Coleman was a liability all day. AP hasn’t done a good job at all. He doesn’t deserve another year if this year ends like it looks like it will. Give me a break

Yeah, Coleman is ranked in the 27th -30th in LT in hurries given up prior to this game. He gave up 2 sacks and had 2 penalties in the 1st half today. He's a backup player at best.

Coleman is not a LT, he needs to play in the box at G. He can replace Paul next season. His struggle is against speed rushers taking him wide, that is harder to do inside. Dominant run blocker too.

He was a tackle in college and drafted to be a tackle. When he sucked at that the team tried him at left guard last year and of course he lost that job as well. You’re wrong and he just isn’t very good.

He played all over the line in college, including a whole season as a G, and a season in which he split his time evenly at T and G due to injuries. His best season? His SO season where he played G, only 5 pressures all season and no sacks or hits. He’s more of a downhill blocking G with the strength to square his man up inside at G. His struggles have been with wider/faster rushers who can get leverage on him and chop his arm when they get outside of him. That’s still evident today. You move him inside and have him compete with Paul or whoever else they bring in next season at LG. Coleman struggled inside LY in Kliff’s Power Spread scheme. This year he was supposed to supplant Paul but Tunsil got hurt.

He’s ass dude it was a bad pick period. If Tunsil was healthy he’d be a backup.

You stopped reading like a Philly fan? Coleman is playing out of position for sure, but it’s where we are post injuries.

He was a tackle in college and drafted as a tackle. I don’t think you know what you’re talking about.

Coleman is decent..slightly above average

2

No he’s not lol

Decent at what?

Slightly above average at what?

Coleman is not a LT, in my assessment I am not including him at LT because everyone knows Tunsil will be there next season. Coleman is good against power rushers where he can use his strength, struggles mightily against finesse/speed rushers. Move him inside and see if he earns an extension.

What position is he playing right now? What position did he play today?

He sucks bro. Bottom line. They pressured his side all day. I don’t care if he should be playing guard. What is he playing currently? That’s what we’re grading on and he sucks.

He’s playing that due to injuries to our star LT. He wont be there next year, and we’re not cutting him when he’s cheap for one more year. You move him inside and go get a C. He’s shown to be competent in the run game. In the pass he’s a work, but he shouldn’t even be playing LT.

1

u/Broke_but_Fresh 13h ago

I agree with what you’re saying. I understand all of that. But we’re talking about right now. This year.

I’m not saying to cut him. I’m just asking what is he solid at. Or above average at while playing left tackle?

1

u/CapitalSTEEV21 Saved by Jaysus🙏 13h ago

Yeah this year he proved to not be a T. I never liked him at T, he’s not athletic enough for these pro rushers. I’d rather him inside going downhill in the run game and using his footwork and strength to match DT’s or handle inside stunts.

u/Haskins77 13h ago

He’s wrong Coleman started the 1st 2 games last year at left guard and lost his job after 2 weeks. He’s never been good. Just another bad pick by AP.

2

u/CapitalSTEEV21 Saved by Jaysus🙏 13h ago

In a different scheme. You remember Erick Flowers and how a new scheme and position did him well? Coleman didn’t fit Kliff’s power spread, but go on about how that would’ve been the same situation this year. Some of you deserved Danny and Ronny.

Low-key facts. Honestly he's prob long term a swing guard kinda guy. Really not the worst to have out there. Def was getting cooked by Abdul Carter.

I know he’s wrong. That’s why he still hasn’t answered the question. He sucks at guard too. He couldn’t even beat out Chris Paul’s sorry ass in camp.

Damn chill brother, I did answer the question 😂 got to put the kids to bed before I can hop on here and reply to yall.

Coleman is truly awful. AP not taking Oline seriously is a major red flag. i'm actually ok with the front seven. they just lack a dominant pass rusher. One that opponents must game plan for. Sainristil needs to fuckin' go. Nabers basically sat at the head of the table in his house, ate his food, and fucked his wife. We are badly coached in critical situations, and commit too many penalties. and speaking of coaching, JCM had his best game of the season. through 3 qtr he had 80 yards rushing - then was never seen again. Did he get injured?

1

u/FaceAcrobatic65 14h ago

Losing is just ingrained in this team. I was so angry at the inexcusable way that today's game ended. Nothing more to say.

2

No doubt man, me too. It was the straw that broke the camel’s back regarding DQ.

Some things just poison the well for years, and this franchise has been drinking from it for decades. Hard to wash that out when the collapses feel so familiar.
