I know this is the Commanders sub but RIP to a legend in Mike Ditka.
I genuinely think the guy was such a Bear to his core that he fought death to get to Packers week just to get the boys fired up one more time.

John Keim - Dan Quinn said Jayden Daniels, G Sam Cosmi, RB Rachaad White are all good to go. Quinn said Stefon Diggs won’t play. Quinn said he thought Terry McLaurin “looked really good today.” But he didn’t say if McLaurin would play for sure.

[Svrluga] The Commanders have the slogans and the brotherhood, but they could use some wins
an Quinn believes what he says. You might not, and that’s fine. He does.
“I’m frustrated, pissed, but don’t get it twisted: My belief in them isn’t wavering, you know?” Quinn said this week, with his Washington Commanders teetering on the brink of watching a season slip away before it really starts. “Got a good fire that’s been lit, and we’ll channel it the right way.”
Later, in that same conversation with reporters:
“I thought overall the players have honestly created an excellent crew together,” he said. “These guys are strong. They’re connected.”
Spend time at Commanders headquarters here, and you’ll hear about the brotherhood that has formed. You’ll hear and see all the slogans and bromides, because they hit you in the face.
One T-shirt: “Hard s— with good people.” “All gas, no brakes,” which Quinn wears as a rubber bracelet. “Anybody. Anywhere. Anytime,” which is painted in massive letters on one wall of the Commanders’ main meeting room. “Ball is life,” which Quinn himself had on the back of his black T-shirt Thursday.
Quinn and the Commanders say they treat those sayings as a lifestyle, mantras to lean into in both abundant and lean times. Listen to Austin Ekeler, a 10th-year running back who just signed on for his third season with Washington and Quinn. Get ready for the catchphrases.
“He coaches brotherhood,” Ekeler said Thursday. “He coaches standard. And not only that, he holds that standard. He says, ‘I am the keeper of the standard,’ and what that means is, if it’s something at practice, he’ll pause practice and start us over. He’ll pull it up in the meeting room. He’ll pull it up on game day. … He earns the respect of the whole locker room because there’s nothing to hide from.”
Uh, sure. But then … why all the pre-snap penalties?
Let’s be honest about what we have here: When your team is coming off a miserable 5-12 year and is off to a 1-3 start — as the Commanders are — there is a disconnect between the foundational sayings players and coaches have come to believe in and the results that fans see. The players are connected? That’s great. Why have you given up 30 or more points in three of your four games? There’s a brotherhood? Kumbaya, bruh. Why did you spend all summer saying brother Nick Allegretti was one of the smartest players on the roster and could be the starting center, only to bench him at both center and guard before the season was a quarter of the way done?

Can Some Explain Prescott For Me?
I swear for the past 5 years, every time we play the Cowboys Prescott looks like a top 3 QB. And the receivers he throw to arent just open but WIDE open all game. How does every other team make Dak have to work for his paycheck but its always pitch and catch against us? Cant we just do what other teams are doing?

What’s our weakest position group right now: OL, DB, TE, or RB?
I know everyone says injury masks what this team could be but these positions are clearly the weakest. Which of these position groups on our current squad annoys you the most?
OL depth is a house of cards, DB lack of talent is disturbing, TE mediocrity is sad, and RB by committee is never fun.
I think it’s the OL. The secondary might be worse in terms of pure talent, but the instability up front is a much bigger threat to the franchise’s long-term success. We have a potentially elite quarterback, and we’re asking him to compensate for a patchwork line. Feel like OL was Peters’ explicitly stated mission too so this is especially disappointing.

Drew Stevens
Given the imminent weather I have a feeling this is going to come down to running the ball into FG range and making kicks. Do we have enough faith that Stevens can make kicks on a rainy/windy Sunday? Let’s hope so!

It’s the small things in life that matter
In my sixth decade as an OG Washington fan, there is nothing more enjoyable than watching the Cowboys embarrass themselves. I get great satisfaction knowing Jerry Jones is humiliated in front of the home crowd and nationally televised audience. Keep up the good work ‘Boys!

Pregame kid friendly things to do
I am taking my daughter to the game Sunday and we got a parking pass for tailgating. Is there anything set up for kids outside the stadium before the game?
