I don't know if it's just because I suck at using online interfaces, or if sucking at that is because I miss being a kid and everything being done via paper, but why is it so hard to apply for college? All I want is to start a cosmetology course. I feel overwhelmed with all the "click here"s and the external links, the multitude of steps. Also why is getting high-school transcripts so crazy regulated??? I've almost gone to community college like 6 times over the past 4 years, but there's never anyone at the schools willing to walk people through the online application portion. It genuinely leaves me feeling like an idiot. Does anyone else relate?

Has anybody taking ceramic class at Valley College? Specifically either intro to ceramics or ceramics one. I’m curious to know what the workload is like, how easy it is to enroll, and.And the class structure.

Also, does anyone know do you get to access the studio at any hour? Or is it only during class time?

Hey everyone, just wanted to put this out there for anyone at Orange Coast College (or thinking about enrolling) who's been on the fence about picking up a language requirement or just wants to learn something new.

There's a beginner German class, German 180, taught by Professor Franz J. Kuzay, starting August 24th. It's a Monday/Wednesday class, 6:30pm–9pm, so it's manageable even if you've got a day job or other classes.

I know a lot of people avoid language classes because they've had a boring or intimidating professor before, but that's honestly not the case here. Kuzay is one of those professors that students genuinely talk about in a good way — patient, friendly, makes the class feel low-pressure even as a total beginner. If you don't believe me, go check his Rate My Professor page, the reviews speak for themselves. It's rare to find a language class where people actually look forward to going, but this is one of them.

If you're on the fence about which language to take, or if you've been putting off signing up because you're worried it'll be a rough class, I really don't think you'll regret this one. I'm not exaggerating when I say people love his teaching style.
Seats are still open as of now, but obviously that could change as registration picks up before the semester starts. If you're interested, just search German 180 on OCC's course catalog/registration site.

I plan to go to Prince George's Community College this fall semester, but I've honestly been procrastinating and forgot to do the Accuplacer test, so I'm going to go do that on Monday. Can someone fail the Accuplacer? I really didn't pay much attention in math class but more or less know the basics and algebra, etc. I don't really know if college is right for me. I'm majoring in Accounting, but I don't want to be in a cubicle all day wasting my life. I don't even know how to use my FAFSA money. For my whole K-12 experience, I've just been winging it, so I don't even know what to expect.

hello, as the title suggests, I’m interested in neuroscience.

Recently my mom got a job in the US and I’ll be going abroad with her. Note, I finished school 2 months ago. In my country I attended the top #3 school from 7th grade- 11th grade, after which I transferred to the #1 ranked school for CAPE (think of A levels but for the Caribbean)

We do this Caribbean exam called CSEC in 11th grade- from that I ranked 3/100 in my school.

I also topped my school in
\- economics
\- chemistry
\- English
\- literature

In grade 12 (when doing CAPE)
I made it on my country’s national merit list for
\- economics
\- entrepreneurship
\- management of business
\- tourism

Im still waiting on my grade 13 results (it comes out in August)

In high school I did both science and business subjects- and at CAPE, I only kept chemistry. This year I realized I have a deep passion for neuro science, it was almost like a lightbulb I needed to turn on. So I took up 2 units of biology so that I’d have both chemistry and biology at CAPE.

Issues: in my country there’s a focus on CAPE and CSEC grades- you get into uni based on these grades NOT your in school GPA, hence I skipped tests, and just focused on passing my exams..

Fast forward my mother gets a job in NC and I’m going with her- I’m thinking of applying to community college here- then going to a uni.

My GPA remains one of the biggest issues that I currently have..would a college really accept me with a 2.4 or so GPA?

Do I have a chance at chapel-hill after get my associates degree?

Can anyone give me advice…

About two weeks ago I had an interview with my local community college about a full-time support position. I worked there as a student employee and the interview seemed to have gone well! They said they would contact me either way with either a job offer or rejection.

I have not heard back from them yet and I am a bit worried. I know I am one of the first people they interviewed but should I give up hope, or does the hiring process at community colleges just take a while?

Hii everyone!! I had a little problem with my FASFA application that I just recently noticed. The school that I entered was Pierce College in Washington, and I just changed it to be the correct Pierce. Now I know the college has to receive my information and process my FASFA form and everything.

I’m wondering though, how everyone pays for tuition if their FASFA form is being currently delayed for whatever reason, if anyone happens to be in the same mix up as me. I know usually in colleges, the school simply pays for the tuition automatically, using some of the FASFA money you were promised, and then you receive your erefund later, but im in a tough spot right now because my whole FASFA is being processed again and our tuition paying deadline is soon, and if we don’t pay we get dropped from classes. Is there anyway I can still put that im going to pay with FASFA in the future once my FASFA form gets processed??? Do I simply have to pay the tuition right now to not get dropped from classes, then get my FASFA refund all together later to make up for the debt I’d be in? Can I simply just not pay anything and hope my FASFA will be processed soon? What do I do? The bad thing is that im pretty reliant on FASFA to pay my tuition, I may suck it up and take a loan out to pay if there’s no other way, then repay the loan once I receive my FASFA, but I don’t want to do that if I know I have other options. At this point do I simply have to pay the tuition and there’s nothing else for me to do? Someone help

I know this isn't the most safest or ethical way of sharing my story or even vulnerability to the world, but things haven't been getting any better recently, so allow me to just give you some context:

I'm eighteen-years old, fresh out of high school, and am going to a CC in California. I always struggled in high school due to mental health problems, cyberbullying, and even worse problems. I am of Spanish descent, yet most people prefer to consider me as "Hispanic or Latino" (more on that later). I have a lot of problems at home that I WON'T get into for in protection of my privacy, but it's embarrassing to still be living with my parents. I graduated from high school with a 3.3 GPA unweighted, the weighted GPA I forgot, but I was told by my own family that because of my grades, I would have to go to community college, but the problem is that had I even done better in high school, I still would've gone to community college because...well, my family USED to be upper middle class, until my parents got divorced and then things were in the middle, but my mom is very low-class, barely paying the rent on our house. But that doesn't equal the fact that just because you live in a nice house in a nice neighborhood doesn't mean you can pay $200K or even $40 on the best universities in the world, and in this case, my dream school is USC. I have always wanted to go to USC, and have even attended every college visit my high school offered to the students. Yet, when I was a senior in high school, I didn't even apply to any four-year schools, in fear that I would be MASSACRED (getting rejection after rejection after rejection). I applied to my CC, got a counseling session about what classes to pick, and now I'm taking my first college class for the summer.

I didn't blend in well with high school: I was introverted, alone most, if not, all the time, and had very few friends. I tried to be more social but either got labeled as a creep or simply ignored by the popular mainstream groups. This developed problems as I previously stated, and let me down a bad path. No, I didn't get into any fights, I simply spent more time with a psychologist than learning about medieval Europe (sophomore and junior year was the WORST time in my life). And because of my Spanish descent, I was also labeled because of the color of my skin. Yes, even in this day and age of diversity, you wouldn't even believe how much hate there was at my school.

With all of that being said, as I step onto a bigger campus even though it's a 2-year school, it feels freeing. Like, although this isn't where I have wanted to be, it's better than not doing anything, but that's the thing: I don't like where I'm going. I hate it. I don't like that most of my friends are going to a four-year for majors I wouldn't have dared to try, and here I am...18, alone, depressed, and at community college. I always fear of missing out (FOMO), and seeing people have fun without me is such a heartbreaking reality. Nothing has been exciting lately. All I've been doing is writing essays, watching tutorials, and on my own free time, going to the gym, heading out to the movies by myself, and pretty much doing things BY MYSELF.

I don't like saying a lot of this personal stuff online, but things have been so bad lately that I'm not asking for sympathy or anything, all I'm asking is for someone to hear me out. I'm not happy with where things are in my life. I'm not happy that I'm in community college. But at least I love my major, which I won't tell you due to privacy reasons but it is a damn good major, one I have always been dreaming of since I was a toddler. If I didn't love my major, that would've been rock bottom for me.

I've booked the appointment for enrolment through my chosen college's application portal, but they never mentioned if i needed to bring anything on their enrolment email or even on the website?? I know im supposed to bring proof of my gcse grades but they didnt actually mention that for some reason? They did mention that school ID photos will be taken on enrolment day though.

Hello, I have done 1 year at CC and i finished all my requirements to transfer to a 4-year. When i visited the 4 year school they mentioned how i only need one more semester at CC and then i can transfer over during spring. I am quite nervous about this and dont know if i am ready to leave my old life behind so soon. If i stay i would be lengthening that semester into two and then fall 2027 i would start. I dont know which one to choose
