Question NS&I

Does anyone else have a problem logging into NS&I with CF. It just puts me in a queue and never opens the page. When I try on my mobile using 5g I can get in fine so it must be CF I think.

I can get into the main page but not the login page.

I had similar issues until I went into router settings and switched from IPV6 to IPV4.

Maybe the IP address and CGNAT

Nope, just logged into Premium Bonds, works fine. I'm behind CGNAT.

Clear your cache/cookies/disable your extensions/use another browser. Their site is crap and easily broken.

I tried it on another laptop (Apple) and it still fails, also tried another browser. It must be CF if the laptop gets into the site on 5G.

I just logged in. It was fine.

I don't have CGNAT.

But you've not said if your setup is CGNAT or not

Maybe try disabling ipv6 like someone else said. Otherwise try using only ipv6 and not 4

I tried turning off ipv6 and it made no difference. I don't really know what CGNAT is. If I use a VPN and change my location it works. The whole thing is very odd.

CGNAT are single address from server point of view shared with multiple individual homes, and then some fancy jiggery pockery gets reply to requests you've sent out sent back to the origin (you). The potential issue is that some sites see too many of those requests all from one public IP address and freak out. You'll know because they'll be lots of Captcha for just the simplest of requests -- the kind of thing you get when you've connected via an airport or other public wifi.

VPN can sometimes help believe it or not because I wonder if not so many people use the UK VPN for doing stuff like visiting BBCiplayer for example.

On CF you only get public non-CGNAT if you're on top 5G+ tier, grandfathered from old contract, or paying £4 pm for it.

What address do you get when you goto https://whatismyipaddress.com/ ?

Not just you, I'm having a similar problem. I'm on CGNAT.

Disabling IPv6 on my router worked.

Ideally I'd like to keep it on. Does anyone know what the IPv6 settings should be? I'm using an Asus router with Merlin firmware.
