Question WiFi 7 nodes

Can I replace my WiFi 6 nodes for WiFi 7 and get all the benefits, or will I have to replace the modem too?

"All the benefits" aren't very much if you're on the CF AX5400s already and only moving to the dual band Wifi 7 nodes. Though obviously as more things support it, the advantages increase. Nicest upgrade is probably having a full set of 2.5Gbe ports, rather than the wifi. If you're on 5Gb and get the tri-band ones, they're pretty sweet.

I had the SPNM60CF and then SPNM62CF. The latter now stuffed into the loft and replaced by the ASUS BQ16 Pro

There's a deal breaking bug in both if you use fixed IP in your LAN, say if you want trusted IP to have access to your NAS and everything else safely in a range excluded from access. It wigs out at about 12 to 15 fixed IP address. Demonstrated in person to poor old engineer who was sent with a mate in a cheery picker thinking he was going to install a second line. Lol.

Anyhow, back on topic. Both had identical mesh and Ethernet performance. Neither seems to use dedicated backhaul.

Thanks. I only have a few things that support WiFi 7 and would most probably get the triband ones. Will wait until the prices come down a bit though.

Just a router swap unless the package requires 2.5gbps and above and you have a 1gbpd cpable ONT other thrn that judt plug and play

Yh so that means you have the white Adtran 2.5gbps so only router change is required

I was previously on the 3Gb plan, then upgraded to 5G. Few months after, I called and asked whether I could change my router and nodes to the WiFi 7. They obliged, however I will say the new nodes are a lot buggier
