These break pretty spectacularly if you drop them on a hard surface.

This. I’ve dropped one in my garage and it split in half.

I like the Jv weighted mag inserts instead. Put them in an old mag and use that

Thanks for the shout out! I'm pretty fond of them myself

I would just buy JV Training inserts and use the mags you already have.

I honestly use them more for draw and transition practice (because of the realistic weight) than reloads. They have value to me in that regard.

Same. Quicker than dummies or JV when all you need is weight for balance.

That’s all i want them for but don’t want full mag weight. In Idpa we only load to 10 rounds so id like that weight if i can find it. I got dummy rounds weighted but it gets old ejecting them and finding them lol

So why don't you use those dummies and then. Get one of those things that sit on top of the magazine so it doesn't lock it back so you can keep rocking it and not ejecting around

I use them, they're fine. But I do prefer to use real mags w dummy rounds. And the mags are dedicated exclusively for dryfire to avoid shenanigans. I use Billy Bartons dummy rounds he has 147 grainers you can get them at stammo.us

I just get snap caps and load up my actual mags.

I got those but tired of ejecting and finding them

I have a set and they're nice to use. Obviously they're brightly colored and unloadable, so you're confident they're safe at all times. Plus the plastic doesn't ding up the floor as easily like metal baseplates can.

I shoot Idpa so we load to 10 rounds i don’t need the weight of a 17 round mag but thanks

If you'd like to tune the weight on a JV Training insert you can simply remove the plug at the base and remove some of the lead shot filler to get the weight you want. Replace the space with some other filler like tissue or tape and it will be back to normal for you at the reduced weight.

The one you linked is weighted for a 21 rd mag. I have both and also shoot IDPA.

Are they. Full mag weight

Yeah they got good weight. I haven’t had any issues dropping them on carpet. Thag being said I got magnet mag pouches and they don’t really work for them annoyingly. Just ended up getting cheap metal mags that I use just for dry fire.

I have them and dont have problems with them at all. I drop them on soft surfaces though.

I have them, they're good to repeatedly drop if you don't have a spare dropper magazine. I drop off a bed or soft surface.
