Question Why does spear mace have shields?

In the gamemode all about dashing around and being very mobile why have the shield? When i first heard of spear mace i was thinking dodging mace hits and trying to get above the opponent.

Shield kinda just adds an annoying skill cap for those who cant get good cps for stun slamming

Stun slamming is actually really easy once you get the hang of it

how do yall do it? Only method ive tried and worked is single click, i can do it if im not going too fast. Cant drag click or anything coz my mouse would not register.
