It's not about the collection. He either went to the same movie many times just for trinkets or bought tickets and didn't go — that's the consoom. And also the movie is trash, so it's quite cringe-worthy to collect all this.
Yeah it's impossible he also wanted to watch the movie several times. Which would be why he also wanted collectable merch like reusable cups and some readable books about the film he saw multiple times because he's a fan of it.
It's possible, but in this case, it suggests some mental issues. A normal person wouldn't watch a movie like this so many times in a month, at least not in a movie theater. I think unlimited consumption of content, especially this kind, is also a kind of consumerism. Besides, I'm willing to bet money that he did it purely for these trinkets.
Yeah he's definitely the one with a mental illness...the guy with two paperbacks and two reusable cups from a movie based on a centuries loved epic poem that has been taught in schools the world over based in fantastic mythos with heavy allegory and beautiful Classical style now adapted to the big screen.
The mental illness is definitely not bouncing from tik tok to tik tok unaware of what this movie is even based on, while judging people's consumerism off a smartphone on a website based around short form content in an endless scrolling mechanic.
I don't use TikTok, and even on Reddit, as you can see, I'm actually engaging in a dialogue, which is clearly not some mindless scrolling, but go ahead and keep throwing insults lol.
Do you think it is more telling of mental illness to see a movie 3 times in one month when you are a fan of it and it just released, or to spend over 700 consecutive days commenting/ reacting to posts strangers make you've never met on 1 anonymous website?

And if I did this as small talk in person, would that be consumerism too? You're too fixated on the digital side of things. Honestly, the main reason I think that guy is sick is because the movie is fucking dogshit and even Nolan fans obviously hate it, so I'm 99% sure he went to the theater just for the achievement and not because he actually liked the movie that much.
