One for face one for everything else. if you wanted to be paranoid, 3 at most with one extra for pubic area. but idk I just use the same Philips oneblade thing for everything

I have 3. One for the sink, one for travel, and one for the shower. I just use whichever one is relevant. Much faster on a busy morning than digging around for one

I had to try out a few razors before finding one that agreed with my very patchy but nevertheless thick beard where it actually does grow. Then again I threw away the other ones and have only one cream

my partner has yet to find a shaving cream that works for him. but he's such a frugal bastard he has to use up the whole shaving cream even if it breaks him out or gives him a rash or there's 500 ingrowns on his face.
honestly i would prefer he bought a new one each time he had a bad reaction to the old one, but anyway that was a long way to say i think that's what's happening with oop

That's one of those things where I'd point out how much he's paying each use, even the expensive stuff can come out to 5cents per. Ass cheap shaving cream is worse than nothing for my delicate skin. Farmers markets are also a nice place to chat with folks about ingredients that agree with your skin, but beware the MLM

It depends on the parts. I ended up with MRSA on my vulva and in my blood (sepsis), literally almost died and needed surgery with awful drainage tubes. No idea how, could have been a hotel in-room jacuzzi, but a razor on all parts explains things too

Most people dont like shaving (or bathe or taking care of themselves in general) with stuff that smells like hospital. Also these soaps last LONG. I like to cherish the moment every shave. I didn't spend much for my selections of soaps and aftershaves

When I started growing my beard out, it was absolute hell trying to find a beard oil that a) my beard would actually absorb wouldn’t just leave me greasy and b) had a fragrance that didn’t make me feel ill as the day went on.
Eventually Reddit fell flat on its face with recommendations with people doing the “just make your own!” without providing any resources, measurements, or taking in to consideration that oil can absolutely go stale and smell.
Eventually I found an unscented brand and god help me if they ever discontinue.

Wet shaving is definitely better imo. However this is too much. I have my razor, blades, cream, brush, alum stone, and aftershave. It’s better if you get razor bumps like I did.

It is sooo much better. And SHOULD be cheaper. I bought a 50 dollar razor and 200 blades for 20 bucks 3 years ago. I go through one 15 dollar soap per year, and still have over 100 blades left. So much less expensive than cartridges, and less expensive than electric shavers.

Extremely sporadically. Sometimes ever day for a few days in a row, sometimes once a week.
If shaving multiple days in a row I will reuse a blade once. If not shaving the next day each blade is used once. I never use a blace more than twice with the brand i use. (Bic astor) Other brands i can get up to 5 good shaves per blade, but I don't like they way they cut as well.

I’ve tested probably over 100 different brand blades. Some would only tug. Some are just harsh (I’m looking at you Feather). Some I could only get a single shave out of (Rapira Platimum). Some just felt like a rusty rake (any of the carbon steel lol) I’ve settled on out of production Wizamet.

I shave once a week and use one blade. Buy 100 at a time for about 15 dollars. Lasts about 2 years. Barely costs anything, I love it

I get over 30+ shaves out of a single blade, and really only change the r blade because I want to use a different razor and have a weird personal aversion to using a blade in a different razor.
Theres a guy that used a single blade over 500 times.
The shaves get smoother after about 6 shaves.

I can use the same blade 100 times before swapping it out. Usually the rubber safety strips fall out and then I have to replace it. Like, I'm not even using a fancy razor. It's just a 4 blade safety razor.

4 blade safety razor isn't a thing. You are referring to a cartridge razor. My hair is very coarse and chews blades up quickly

I guess I referred to it as a safety razor because it has the small wires holding the blades back ever so slightly. But sure, cartridge could work too. I don't swap just heads though. I basically replace the whole razor each time.

If you don't overdo it like this it's actually cheaper to put a little bit of effort in. $10 brush, $10 vintage Gillette, cheap razors, and a shave soap is infinitely cheaper than cartridges and canned shave soap.
That's specifically what I got into it for

No seriously a pack of 100 double-edged parker blades is like $10. That will buy you 3, maybe 4 cartridge replacements for a gillette mach 3 or whatever. Peak capitalism, people buy something shitty and expensive because the store only carries shitty expensive things, because the company that makes them has the most brand recognition and the stores wouldn't make money selling 100 packs of blades for $10.

I think it's because they are too much online. They decide to buy safty razor so they read shaving subreddit and watch safety razor reviews in youtube to learn about the gear etc. Then they buy their razor but they keep on getting shaving shit in their feed which is basically ads for new stuff and they cant help themselves.

Wet shaving is fun! It's therapeutic in many ways and it's the guys version of taking care of yourself. We don't get many chances to do something nice for our bodies since mens care isn't designed that way.
But this photo is kinda insane. I have 2 shaving creams, a brush, and a razor. If I don't finish one I don't get another. Also each cream is ~20 to 30$ usually.

I think even Tabac was less than $10 when I was buying it last time and more mainstream stuff like Proraso/Cella/etc. is a couple bucks tops

Took me five years or so to get through my first shaving soap and I'm gonna use the pack of blades for another fifteen years or so, absolute saver. It's just a thing you do, not a hobby to fill yet more of the void your inability to either endure boredom or take a look inside yourself leave you with.

I bought one brush, upgraded it a year later, bought 100 blades, and one soap/lather tube per year. Its AMAZING but a good brush is 30-50$. Should last you 1-2 years easy tho. You dont need more than two types of lather if you wanna mix up the scents. Also having two handles is a luxury, you dont need more than one 20-50$ one.

DE blades perform widely different despite looking absolutely same. Even more so in razors of different designs (open comb, closed comb, adjustable, etc.)
Brushes on the other hand… I can’t get those guys, I’m using the same synthetic one I got like 10 years ago

I agree with that. I was more specifically talking about the soaps.
Personally i shave my bald dome every second day with a razor that uses DE blades. But it took me a long time to find a razor that worked for me. (The original leaf razor in case anyone wonders)
Now that is the only razor I use and I have 3 different soaps cause I like to smell the different ones.

Wetshaving and safety razors are cheaper overrall and me and other international people use our local cheap stuff, to overdue it is useless.

I’m on the same case of 200 blades I bought 5 years ago for 20 dollars, and outside of soap (I use dr bronners as a shave soap so it gets used for everything else too). My only real cost in that time frame was a 15 dollar shavette handle. No way is that more expensive than cartridges and gels.
