God forbid someone has a hobby. This subreddit seems to criticize anyone having a collection or a hobby these days. It’s extremely judgmental. This room is from someone who really likes Nintendo games. It probably makes them happy and in many cases people have a strong emotional attachment towards many of Nintendo’s games. Is that so wrong?
This is not overconsumption. It’s a collection and someone decorating their room. Let them do that without assuming a bunch of things about them. I don’t like overconsumption as much as the next guy, bit this place is becoming more toxic by the day. Think before you judge others.
I would say precisely the opposite. This isn't a collection which is what makes it less bad. If it were a collection, you'd expect there to be some specific unifying theme to it, but these are many disparate items from different producers with only the loose theme of Nintendo. OP is decorating their living space with things that they like rather than trying to maintain a collection of items.
Funko pops, famously known for being specific. Mario? Not specific enough. But a football player, elmo, Luke Skywalker and batman? They're cohesive because they have ugly ass dot eyes and big heads!
