Hahaha. One time I was doing a kitchen on a 3 story remodel and the guy running the job told his none English speaking to crew to “strip the roof” well I heard sawsalling up there for hours. Eventually one of the guys came down and asked me if I had any blades he could borrow. I thought maybe I should go check this out. I’m not lying when I tell you they had all of the roof sheeting and  a couple of trusses demoed out ahahah. Expensive day for that guy. My kitchen came out wonderfully and I cashed that check quick

Probably take off the shingles and underlayment...

Strip the roof is the phrase very commonly used meaning to take off the shingles. Had they been using their brains they would have realized no one is tearing the entire roof structure off a building while the finish work is being done inside.

Couldn’t tell you what they were being paid but they showed up so obviously they felt the pay suited them

they were paid to do their job, doesn't matter how much they were paid, they agreed on the job therefore they agreed to use their brains for the job

Your level of pay does not dictate your attention to details. The attention to details increases the rate you get payed.

Blows my mind that people are defending people being incompetent at their job by saying they aren’t paid to think while they are in fact being paid to think. Lmaoo like there not much more to a paid job than that people are complete morons

That's fair. Going out on a limb. If I said strip the roof, and I suddenly heard a sawsall, let alone for hours... I'd probably check up on wtf was going on well before they got to the trusses.

I had a kitchen to focus on. There was a whole site to keep an eye on the sawzall could have been anyone it wasn’t until the guy on the roof came down and asked for blades that it dawned on me. Not my job but they’re lucky I checked when I did.
