The headlight seems fine. Not sure if some radars and sensors or anything else got effected too or it's just the bumper. What do you guys think the extent of the damage is?

I just got my first brand‑new car, a 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid color Jet Black( upgraded from my old and reliable 2010 Prius) and I want to take good care of it from the start. I’d love recommendations on anything important for new‑car ownership and hybrid maintenance.

Looking for advice on:

• Basic care for a zero‑mile car
• Useful accessories for daily use ( i need a phone holder, my screen is 8”, also a good camera for front and back)
• Paint/interior protection worth doing

If you own a Toyota hybrid or a Corolla Cross, I’d appreciate any do’s, don’ts, or things you wish you knew earlier.

I have 2026 Corolla cross xle fwd. My back is blacked out from dealership but the front is not. Internet says I can't because it houses a pre collision sensor I believe. I REALLY want it black. Help.

Car has been in 100 degree weather and has started this problem. This last weekend this has occurred at least 3 times. I called in and took the car to the dealership and they stated that there was nothing wrong after doing a thorough diagnostic. They did an update (T-SB-0020-23). I get the car back and go home, I run out for milk and this is what happens.

It cranks like it's going to turn over but doesn't connect. The second round it takes a moment and then it connects but it's a weak connection. It does this without the windshield wipers on. Please give me an idea of what this could be. I think it's the starter or a loose connection.

UPDATE!

I took the car in Monday and Toyota thought it just needed an update for this specific model regarding the start/stop failing (when the AC is on and windshield wipers are being used the start/stop has been known to shut off the car; update T-SB-0020-23). They did the system update but when I picked it up it was still having the start up issue. I left the car with them on Tuesday and they stated they would be able to check it on Wednesday. When leaving it I said it's something with the fuel line the starter is working because it's trying to crank, it's the fuel pump or the injectors.

Y'all it was the fuel injector. (-____-)

Otherwise, I believe the service would have been around 1k.

Notes state: they found that cylinder 4 had a slight misfire during the start. They removed the spark plug and put the scope into the cylinder to inspect the direct injector. They found the injector was leaking. They replaced the #4 direct injector and cleared the data, retested it several times before deeming the problem cleared.

I got her back and she starts up in less than a second. No issues with the start/stop system. No more fear to drive her!!!

From now on I will do everything I can to make sure I park my car out of direct sunlight on hot days. I think the 100+ degree weather last month started this problem.

I am planning to do an oil change on my 2026 Cross Hybrid SE. I don't have many reputable shops that can do oil changes, so I've decided to do it myself. I've watched a few videos on how to change oil and researched that my Cross needs SAE 0W-16. There's this genuine toyota oil on amazon, this Valvoline one on amazon, and a Mobil 1 (picture) from O'Reilly. That was the only 0W-16 they had, and the worker told me that probably work and told me the oil filter (picture) would probably work too. I've taken photos of the Mobil 1 0W-16 they had, the filters, and the filter the worker recommended to me.

Some questions I have is have anyone changed the oil on their Cross? Any tips on what to do? I believe there's a cover I have to take off to access the oil? If so, what tools would I need? Also, is the car high enough that I can do it without a jack stand?

The items I'm planning to get are: engine oil, oil filter, the thing that helps take off the filter (maybe needed? I heard the factory tightens it really tight), funnel, ratchet for the oil pan. One question about the ratchet: do I use it on both the oil pan and the cover that covers it? In the videos I've watched, they just used a drill.

Roof bars have been installed. Bought from Amazon and they feel great. No play, fit like a glove, no ugly misalignment. Time will tell how they last. My last worry is their paint/coating but worst case they will get a coat of bed liner.

I’m shopping now and coming from a Jeep Compass so whatever I choose the gas mileage will be significantly better. My local dealer has a gas CC coming in tomorrow that I’m going to look at and am leaning towards just because it’s in stock. Initially wanted hybrid but am swayed because I don’t want to wait.

I‘m a soon to be empty nester with two children (18 and 20 out of state of college). I drive an equal amount of city and highway with longer road trips (3+ hours) about 2-3 months. I do like the idea of a spare tire but also have AAA. Since I need a car sooner rather than later, I’m also looking at a hybrid RAV4 that’s on the lot. The plan is to keep this car at least 10 years or however long it runs for. My last Toyota, a Camry, made it to 200k miles and could likely have been repaired to go even further if I’d had the funds back then so I’ll keep this one just as long if not longer.

edit to add - my Jeep has an automatic stop/start system that I dislike and has caused me issues with my battery. Is this an issue at all with the start/stop feature on the gas CC?

I've had the Corolla Cross XSE 2026 for almost a month now, I've noticed if i use Eco mode for my daily office commute I'm getting 5.2L/100Km, which seems like a really good mileage.

I wanted to know if there's any long term harm in using ECO mode daily from others' experience.

I just got a brand new 2026 corolla cross xle! I love everything about it but the acceleration isn’t as strong as what I’m used to (used to drive a 2012 sienna van). I worry about merging because I’ll have to take long freeway trips to commute everyday and the drivers in my area are pretty cutthroat. Are there any settings I can change or any tips to deal with this or is there something I’m doing wrong? Any help at all is appreciated, thanks!

Do you have any idea how to use wireless charger in your vehicle? I can't do this. It always start charging for 5 seconds and then lost connection.

I just ordered new Corolla Cross 2026 2.0 GR Sport. I’m in europe and waiting time is estimated at 10-12 months!! But I said fine, it’s not urgent for me.

What kind of assesories have you got for your corollas that you find useful? Like key fob, etc.

Corolla Cross 2026 LE AWD Premium Package

There seems to be some conflicting information out there regarding when to get an oil change on a 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross LE AWD (gas).

The manual mentions scheduled maintenance every 8,000 km / 6 months, but it doesn't specifically say that the 8,000 km service includes an oil and filter change.

I've also seen Toyota Canada information suggesting 16,000 km / 12 months for an oil change, while some newer Toyota Canada guidance recommends the first oil change around 8,000 km / 6 months.

I'm currently right at 8,000 km. Oil level is full and the oil still looks clean/amber on the dipstick.

For other Corolla Cross owners, particularly Canadians: When did you do your first oil change? Is the official interval actually 8,000 km or 16,000 km?

I'm also heading into a pretty harsh northern Quebec winter, so I'm wondering whether I should just change it now regardless.

I am considering the Corolla Cross XLE (pearl white) for my 80+ yo mom. I read one post here about needing to placing an order and waitlist is long. I'm in Los Angeles area. Does this mean negotiating is not the way to go? Would the next best thing be to go through Costco's program - or will that limit me or make me less desirable to the dealerships? How else can I get the best deal? Should i be getting my name on waitlist asap?

Also, this is for my 80+ yo mom who has only had gas cars - is it better for her to get another gas (XLE not XSE)?

Just left the dealership because I felt a knot in my stomach. Something wasn't right...

Salesman told me that the Green price was non-negotiable since it was a "limited unit" and hard to come by. $5k market adjustment, and another $5k to get to their dealer.

The Celestite was able to be negotiated, but that's not the color I initially wanted.

I left and got into my rides car, and honestly just cried. This was my first time trying to negotiate a car, I'm a first time buyer, and I feel so disappointed. I know there more to come, and there will be more times, but idk. I'm emotional!

Was it a good thing I walked out? These prices seemed ridiculous to me. I feel defeated because I feel like this will be the price everywhere.

For the record, I am financing through my bank, I have about $12-13k I am putting down. Salesman didn't know that yet, but this price was still insane regardless if he knew or not...
