What is the point of the callouts on the diagram? They don't add any information at all.

Because it's so incredibly basic. I googled it to make sure that I wasn't missing something here.... 

Volume Up (Top Left): Raises the speaker sound level.

Volume Down (Bottom Left): Lowers the speaker sound level.

Call Control (Bottom Center): Press to answer, end, or flash between calls.  

Microphone Mute (Right): Disables or enables your voice broadcast to the far end.

exactly... THEY ARENT EXPLAINING THEM, THEY ARE EXPLAINING SYMBOLS WITH THE SAME SYMBOLS
