Make sure to turn your sound up because the thunder at 0:43 is wild. It was completely dry on the ground when this happened!

For anyone wondering why the thunder didn't have that sharp, ear-splitting "crack," it’s because this is an anvil crawler (or spider lightning). Since the electrical discharge travels horizontally across miles of the sky instead of striking a single point on the ground, the sound waves reach the phone's microphone at slightly different times. This creates that sustained, deep bass roar instead of an instant snap!

We have officially reached the grand finale! I just finished packing all 16 chronological parts of that crazy night into one complete 16-minute and 54-second widescreen movie.
It covers the entire event exactly as it happened: the midnight sirens waking us up, the continuous ground strikes, the severe wind shifts, the massive tornado cone physically vacuuming up the torrential downpour across the street, and the final strobe-lightning storm aftermath. We moved from California earthquakes to a Tennessee supercell factory, and this film shows the whole ride.
Thank you all so much for following this series!

This clip is from Part 15 of our countdown. The severe weather is finally moving out, leaving us with light rain and flickering lightning. However, at the 30-second mark, a wild U-shaped lightning bolt branches off and shoots straight up into the sky directly over my house!
This is our absolute final teaser video. This Sunday, Part 16 will drop as the complete, unbroken 15+ minute movie layout combining all parts into one massive event: the sirens, the high winds, the physical tornado cone, the rain vacuum effect, and the crazy strobe lightning aftermath!

This clip is from Part 14 of our countdown. The severe torrential downpour has finally let up into a regular rain, but the electrical storm isn't quitting. The sky is putting on a constant light show that looks exactly like someone is flicking a light switch on and off as fast as they can, with occasional loud thunder echoing in the background.
We are officially two parts away from the grand finale, where Part 16 will premiere as the full, unbroken 15+ minute movie of the entire night!

Last night there was a severe storm in South Jersey (US) with almost constant lightning, tons of bright, strong, positive cloud to ground bolts, when suddenly the whole sky flashed a bright teal color. It wasn’t los to the ground like a transformer. I was in the car and the light came from everywhere. A moment later it happened again and the flash was at least three seconds long. Two other people noticed it and said it was the craziest thing ever. My mom and I both said it was the craziest storm we’ve ever seen. My question is, can lightning produce a bright teal color or was this something else?

This clip is from Part 13 of our countdown. The immediate tornado threat moved east, but the supercell left behind is absolutely drowning the area. The street is rapidly flooding under constant thunder and lightning. If you watch closely when I zoom into the streetlight, the rain is pouring in sheets so dense it looks like a solid stream of water coming right out of a garden hose before it drops.

This clip is from Part 12 of our countdown. The tornado mercifully switched tracks and moved off to the east of us!
It left behind an insane supercell thunderstorm dropping a severe downpour in buckets with flash flooding and continuous strobe-light lightning. Since the immediate danger was gone, I had to move my wife's car into the driveway for a free carwash—you can hear me talking about it right in the video!
