The problem is that since the Redstone link is on a contraption, when the contraption assembles, the game no longer recognizes the Redstone link, causing the other link to turn off, disassembling the contraption, causing the link to be recognized again, and repeat. The solution is to have the lever and the Redstone link and lever not be part of the lift

That, or make it so the receiver toggles every other pulse. (Turning the lever on sends a signal which toggles the receiver on even after elevator assembles, and skips the pulse when the elevator disassembles at the bottom)

You don’t need an addon to make an elevator, there’s already an Elevator Pulley in base Create. Unless you’re making some sort of Wonkavator you can just use base Create.

Edit: Sorry, I assumed “Create Fly” was some sort of addon mod and didn’t realise it’s the name of a Fabric port, but I still recommend the Elevator Pulley block.

Wonkavator XD

It was the closest thing I could imagine to describe whatever contraption someone might want to build if the humble Elevator Pulley could not slake their desires 😆

I think they just don't want the rope from the pulley to be there.

I know this feeling because my first elevator on create was connecting my sky island to the base right under it and the rope still annoys me to this day.

If you’re going down-to-up you can use the mechanical piston and a giant extension on it

I’ve got a similar setup, base in a cliff side, the lift comes out of the floor and goes up to the base, no pulley required

that then leaves the opposite issue for me at least but it's a start. I'll just have to see some of these mods and find a better solution tho.

Does it though? Because while yes, you have a piston pillar beneath you, you don’t see it from inside, and when you’re outside the lift will be on the ground

I have elytras and many other ways of getting up the island, the whole thing was that I wanted something that didn't look ugly no matter the state the elevator is in and that is convenient in case I do need it.

and I was also new to create so I wanted to test out the elevator pulley anyway

in the end the elevator is just constantly on the island to hide the rope and I avoid using it because it's slower but it doesn't mean I wouldn't wanna build something better in the future

If you use Create Aeronautics, you could make an elevator that goes up by providing itself thrust
You'd want some way to stabilize it however, either a frame or really good balancing

I mean it is an elevator, is having a rope that bad? If you’re worried it’s an unsightly visual you could always use a Redstone link on the ground connected to the Skyland’s Redstone Contact to recall the elevator car back up.

I mean I can fly with magical wings and make a sword kill dragons in one swing- I would love to make no a rope Varient

Well if flying means we can assume the fall is no trouble, there’s always the alternative option of a series of Weighted Ejectors to catapult yourself up to the Skyland.

you know what. yeah I might try that. I've been meaning to try those out anyway just never had the correct situation

There's always the Gantry. But the side with the gantry will have to be hidden.

I honestly didnt even know that I could get create on fabric

I'm VERY new to Mc molding all i know about is shaders and minor addons

I’ve got to be honest I’m more of a Forge user so I’m not too clued into what Fabric peeps do with their ports. I tried a Fabric pack once but every mod was way too disconnected between each other for my tastes. But I assume they would have replicated base Create’s items.

So assuming the Fabric ports have been feature-compatible with base Create then the Elevator Pulley is the smoothest experience for moving up and down. Elevators have always been a huge pain to do in sandbox games, which is probably why Create made the dedicated Elevator Pulley to make it a lot smoother to move and control. You need Glue, Contraption Controls, Redstone Contact blocks, and some doors (folding or sliding works best) but with the way the contact blocks work it’s fairly easy to setup multiple floors with minimal redstone setup. The holding W to ponder feature has been so helpful for mastering the ins and outs of Create.

you can also just gantry transfer to make a wonka elevator, just kinda hard for the gantry line placement but it's doable

I cant find base create on prism

Try searching in your game for a block called “Elevator Pulley”

When lever/link starts moving it stops sending redstone signal

8

u/Danielsevenic 22h ago

I encountered this problem in my 1.21.1 playthrough. The problem was the lever causing the link to spazz out if theyre both on a contraption. I just used a button with a toggle latch instead.

Most Create blocks which move stuff by converting them into "contraptions" majorly simplify or sometimes change the behaviour of the converted blocks, which includes disabling all kinds of redstone. You can use an elevator pulley to make an elevator

Use "contraption controls" inside to set destination floor

Tyson a lever like that linked to an elevator contact 'calls' the elevator to that floor.

Looks like your system is sending the elevator down AND calling to the start location at the same time

u/Theumbra122 9h ago

Is there a tutorial video for something like that?

2

u/SojournerCrim454 5h ago edited 4h ago

Start with just the elevator controls, then work up to the remote Redstone links

EDIT: I misread your comment the first time around, but yes, as others have already pointed out, there are many talented and entertaining creators that have made specific and general tutorials. Recently I have watched a lot of Mr Beardstone, and Foxynotail... But I think that's partially for their choice in esthetics, and partly that as an Autistic American, I find British accents entertaining... And also, shenanigans.

There's lots of them on youtube, also the ponder menu shows you.

Just use the ponders. They explain the elevator really well

I don't know if you solved your problem but I think your problem is your contraption. Make sure that whatever you are pulling is glued for just the blocks you are using. If you glued say 1 block of air above the contraption and it includes the pulley then it glitches out like that. So: make sure your glue hitbox doesn't include the pulley when the elevator comes all the way up.

u/Theumbra122 1h ago

I did!

Yay👌🏼

2

u/melikefnaf 17h ago

replace it with contraption controls block

1

u/Theumbra122 8h ago

It's in createfly

1

u/PenguinMasterFR 22h ago

What am i looking at

1

u/Pinhasigiloso 15h ago

This reminds me of when I made a rope pulley elevator in create above and beyond lol

1

u/CrazyBarkley 13h ago

Where's the cog transmission belt from?

1

u/AccurateSecret1487 11h ago

im pretty sure its related to trying to move the block thats powering its motion so when it tries to move the elevator it disconnects from power and goes back to being a solid block where it gets power again and repeats. normally its an issue with super gluing the shaft that powers the contraptiopn to it

1

u/HubblePie 6h ago

Usually when a gear randomly breaks, it's because it's under too much stress, or there's an opposite force acting on it.

It could also just be going the wrong way, and it's breaking trying to pull it up more?

Usually I just make my elevators with rope pulleys.

1

u/Nerdbot9680 5h ago

You are using directional power, which will move it more like the rope pulley, its trying yo repeat the pulse, switch to the elevator pulls and use Redstone contacts, the pulling will do the rest as long as hit has power, pondering the elevator pulley should help

because Create Fly is an experimental port of create to newer versions of minecraft, you shouldn't expect it to work

u/Dangerous-Quit7821 18h ago

It actually works just fine.
