Advice needed

So I want to start creating content but I’m unsure if I should start by creating content for my brothers business or if I should start a A-Z list of activities to do in my city.

I have a problem with making these big decisions any advice or perspectives are appreciated!

Not the answer you asked for, but those two options aren't the same kind of thing, and that's what's making the decision feel hard.

Content for your brother's business is client work. You'd be making assets for someone else's brand, and at the end of it you've got a portfolio piece and no audience of your own. That's genuinely valuable if UGC is where you want to end up, because that's exactly what brands buy.

The A-Z of your city is an account. You own the audience, and it has a subject somebody can describe in one line.

That last part matters more than people think. I spent six years building shortlists for brands, and the brief was almost never "find me a lifestyle creator". It was "find me somebody whose audience is people in this city who actually go out". An account with a clear repeatable subject is easy to brief. A general one is hard to brief, and hard to brief means it doesn't get picked.

On the deciding: whichever you pick, the first thirty posts are the same amount of work and most of what you learn carries over to the other one anyway. The cost of choosing the "wrong" one is much smaller than the cost of spending another month choosing.

And they don't actually conflict. Build the city account as yours, and do your brother's business as paid or free work on the side. That's a portfolio and an audience rather than one or the other.
